i think everyone is giving it high numbers for NA EU is cuz sony are most likely going to advertise this game over there being as this is one of the few exclusives it is going to get. well sony should do. we all know if this game was 360 exclusive microsoft would advertise the hell out of it in the west

That was Kenzan.

Besides, the Yakuza series sells much differently than any other series in Japan. The first two will sell 300-350k in the first two months and double their sales whenever the cheaper edition comes out. Look at Yakuza 1 and 2 sales. It's crazzy man.

MS advertise every multi-plat game here in the the UK let alone exclusives. If Killzone 2, FF Versus, GT5 OH GOODNESS GT5 and Heavy Rain are not advertised I am going to give Sony's advertising department a kick in the family jewels.

I dont know, it may boost hardware?

Hopefully if the ps3 drops to 20k or lower levels than that in january and february I think this may boost ps3 harware to 30-50k levels.

Also the game imo may sell 250-400k.

All the previous Yakuza games were exclusive, why were they not advertised? GT5 better get the Halo treatment, it could sell 10 million with ease.

RE5 (eh not so much)

FF:AC + FFXIII demo PS3 bundle (oh yeah, demo)

PS3 is going to barely get to a million YTD in Japan but next year I think it will do it by November

If it gets a price cut, and if GT5 or FF XIII releases in japan in 2009, it may even hit 2 million consoles sold that year alone in japan, and im not joking.

We will definitely see the next price cut in Japan, smaller region yet extremely important in terms of sales. If they lose another $100 in Japan per PS3 sold so be it, PS3 has the games hardcore gamers want.

FFXIII, Versus, GT5 Yakuza 3 will easily make up for that $100.

DMC4 (ps3 only) is around 40k behind DMC3 in Japan, and MGS4 sold around 200k less than MGS3 (so far).

Those are the only real barometers we have to go on when gauging Yakuza 3's sales, as they are the only franchises with really hardcore fanbases released on the ps3 thus far.

Based on those two examples, I'm going to have to say 550-650k lifetime for Yakuza 3, as Yakuza 1/2 sold around 750k.
