Of course the media effects the video game industry and which one you pick. The Wii is a pop culture craze that is cute and cool to own. This makes tons of people want one.

If the media makes the PS3 sound like a waste of money and uncool then the mainstream people aren't going to be as likely buy it/keep it.

Hey the way its portrayed nearly makes it seem like Microsoft is pouring money into each of these media sites. I havent seen this degree of slander on a console before.

its not the media's fault for the ps3's failing sales it is in fact sony's. ever since the last good e3 the ps3 was dubbed the worst console to get because of money. and the economy is in such bad shape no one can afford to spend 400+ on a game machine. then all the fanboys goes oh but it is also a blueray player. you can get a blueray player for half the price of the ps3 now so that is hurting them even more. plus what games are actually good on teh ps3 for a guy like me? i dont like little blue planet, i dont like metal gear solid at all. and resistance? hello i play halflife 2 and counterstike on a whim so why do i need another shooter? so this is the problem of the ps3 it has no solid reason to own one besides the blue ray player and those are actually getting low enough to where you wont need to buy a ps3 cause its not the cheapest.
