On a sidenote to stickball, IDK how you could enjoy any of the 360 JRPGs, save for LO and ToV, but seeing as that you didn't play PS1 JRPGs, your standards must be extremely low. Xenogears is probably one of the best JRPGs around, like Euphoria said, and you owe it to yourself to play some good JRPGs like that. Not mediocre ones like LO and the like. And don't get me started on IU, BD, and TLR.

SNES rpgs >>> PS1 rpgs.

Xenogears, Vagrant Story, Star Ocean: The Second Story, FF VII-IX, Valkyrie Profile, SaGa Frontier 1-2, Grandia, Lunar 1-2, Legend of Mana, Legend of Dragoon, Persona 2: Eternal Punishment, Chrono Cross Breath of Fire 3-4, Parasite Eve 1-2...

Against: Secret of Mana, Tales of Phantasia, FF IV-VI, Terranigma, Secret of Evermore, Chrono Trigger, Illiusion of Gaia, Star Ocean, Bahamut Lagoon...

Maybe I missed a couple... but my choice goes for the PS1.

As for WKC, nice... I hope it does 350-400k LTD (or more thanks to online, Japan seems to love it). For now my primary concern is actually getting the game.

 

 

 

Let me add Suikoden, Suikoden II, and Wild ARMs to your list...

As an old-school harcore jrpg fan, thse games are not what they used to be.  But what I've read of WKC, it brings back part of that foundation what's been lost in most JRPG's for the past few years.  Hopefully, this will bring out the best in JRPG fans, but it also seems to bring out some of the worst in haters.  Good for WKC and gamers.  Keep it real, and keep it alive.

It is kind of funny how smbu2000 uses Breath of Fire for the PS1 as great examples of RPGs but neglects the iterations on SNES. Also, you could just say: The Soul Blazer Triology.

I have openly stated that I have a preference, and Im not denying it as its quite obvious.

 And youre fucking wrong if you believe I hate the 360. In fact I have alot respect for it. Its the company behind that I dislike, they have some business techniques and practices I dont respect. And for those and more reasons I dont desire to support them as a company.

If they plan to promote the 360 like their other products I'd rather not join in. Sure they are giving developers and advantage but at what cost. Personally I believe their place in the console industry could ruin the gaming industry. Just the thought of the xbox brand ending up the same as windows makes me cringe.

But for the most part people dont think about it, as long as they get all the games they want they dont grant it any thought.

So you see, my reasons for not supporting the 360 have been ground founded.

Yours on the other hand I imagine are due to the same old shit of "lol 599$" "lol blu-ray" "enemy crab" etc. etc. and shit.

But hey enough about this, we're getting off topic.

Nice, I feel exactly the same. Good to know there are others thinking the same way. I would hate a console monopoly by Microsoft.

i remember a certain user goes by the name starcraft that said ps3 has not proven it can push the jrpg. although when he first stated the statement it was correct depending on your frame of reference. but looking at this preview the ps3 has proven itself big time. i got a quote somewhere but i doubt i really need to bring it in

anywho wkc rocks cant wait to play it stateside

 

edit: too late for predicitons? i would love to see it hit 3+ million...tis alot but meh im a dreamer~

What they think is "how can I make this shit look insignificant""........""oh! I know.... bla bla bla", instead of throwing in some little respect.
