Forums - Nintendo - Where are the DS WRPGs?

I love the DS and I love RPGs.

I know I should feel spoilt for choice with all the great JRPGs available on the system, but what I'm really craving is a good WRPG on the DS. Like maybe a Baldur's Gate III, or Planesape II, or even a Fallout spin-off done in the old iso veiw style.

With RPGs doing doing so well on the DS why are no western developers having a crack with a good, old school WRPG?

hmmm, baldurs gate would work well on the DS, i would think... hmmm, I kinda wish there were more SRPG, FFT DS sucked, and FE is not out yet...

End of 2009 Predictions (Set, January 1st 2009)

Wii- 72 million   3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases

360- 37 million   Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak

PS3- 29 million  Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut

Now that I think about it some more, maybe it's because western devs seem so obsessed with turning their RPGs into hybrid action/fps games...?

Try Rando of Sword made by atlus. Very good SRPG.

I think it is probably because WRPGs take a lot of work to make compared to a JRPG on a handheld.

I could see the original Baldurs Gate (PC) on the DS, I believe the minimum req on it were like 250 mhrz processor and around 50 mb or ram. So I'm pretty sure the DS could run it.

I'm Unamerica and you can too.

The Hunt Begins 4/20/2010 =D

Bioware made Sonic Chronicles The Dark Brotherhood.

I haven't played it but from reviews it seems it played much like a JRPG though. That's the only one I'm aware of.

I'd love to see a Baldur's Gate III on PC or Wii (were 4 people could play together, each controlling there character seperately)

Gauntlet DS should be arriving soon.

Try Luminous Arc 2. Same universe but no story ties to the previous and has improved alot over the last.
