LOL I even disappointed playing Kid Icarus in a emulator before. I mean, KI was nothing more than  Ice climbers and Metroid combined. And its in literal sense it is. Some people posting facts say KI uses the Metroid engine on the NES.

 

To be fair, some great franchises didn't start off that good. I didn't really enjoy Metroid for the NES. I love its sequels and the Prime games though.

Sonic 1 kinda aged to me (still fun but obviously flawed, not because of the lack of Spindash), Sonic 2 and Sonic 3 & Knuckles are still amazing to this day.

I beleive Kid Icarus has GREAT potential for another game. So hey, it wouldn't hurt to try.

By the way, in speaking of sequels, there is a KI sequel for the Game Boy but I've never played it yet. Has anyone tried it? If so, was it good or at least better than the NES game? (Personally I did enjoy the NES game to some extent, I heard the first few stages sucks and the rest were good, so I'm still willing to give KI NES another go someday.)

Well I've played Ice climbers on the nes(not in a emulator) and I have more fun playing that than KI? Why is that?

Pit will be not more than a spin off character like Daisy does.

I do want a new KI as much as the next person but I have yet heard of actual confirmation.

I can't recall any proof being shown. I believe the only information was based off of IGN, who said it was going to be shown at E3........which never happened.

Actually, Metroid on the NES was popular at that time. The one that started it all along with Legend of Zelda. Those are the first games that actually uses a walkthrough and at that time its innovative and new.

NO. And they never will... Its just a rumor made by IGN even BengaBenga thinks its pointless so he deletes his sig about it. Just deal with it...

Sorry to say this, but you're like the loyal HD fans that somehow their console will gain majority of marketshare. Which isnt in real life...

Yes, I was rather disappointed when E3 passed, and nothing about Kid Icarus was even hinted at. Since that time, I just totally ignore rumors, and don't even speculate about them, for the most part. It's just too much of an emotional investment, for the amount of happiness that occurs, with 1/50 rumors coming true (yes, I did pull that number from my ass:) ). I'd rather be blindsided, like with Dragon Quest X.

Sorry to say this, but... even theres a plan of Kid Icarus WHO CARES! SO WHAT?!! In all of the members here in this site only soriku was the only one interested he also the one who wants to hype KH3 but really, even how much I like KH3 on the Wii I dont care if it will be in the Wii or not it will not change anything.

Dont even knew kid icarus, its the most niche and least popular Ninty franchise. Even Ness was more popular than Pit...

I care.  I love it and am eagerly awaiting another sequel.  It's one of my favorite Gunpei Yokoi games.  Do you have a problem with that?

Simply because YOU don't care for it it doesn't mean everyone else won't. Kid Icarus is a beloved old school franchise that HAS fans. I agree that its very niche and we don't know if a new one will appeal to new gamers. But to believe it shouldn't be made its being ignorant to the fact that its a Nintendo franchise that people like and its creation means more games on the system. How can you argue against THAT?

As for the rumors, I always thought they were that, rumors. With Factor 5 gone its pretty much non-existent now, unless another developer or Nintendo themselves is making it.
