I have been reading these forums for sometime now and most people belive the Nintendo Wii is a direct competitor to both PS3 and Xbox 360. Well I belive it isn't and its not even on the same field of play. My reasons.......

No true gamer would buy a Wii over PS3/Xbox360 and as a gamer you want hardcore games (like gears, halo, GTA) and a joypad and no true gamer would ever swap their HD console for a Wii.

The Wii is aimed at more the casual player and people who would never buy any HD console. My parter says shes going to buy a Wii for Wii fit because her friend has Wii fit, my girlfriends friend isn't even a gamer and has never played a game in her life but still she bought a Wii console. Even if the PS3 was $100 these type of gamers would still buy a Wii.

I belive even if the Wii didn't exist the xbox 360 and PS3 would still of sold the same amount of console as it has now give or take a few million... the only thing the Wii has bought into the market is a new type of gamer. Us hardcore players will always want a hardcore console with hardcore games. I know little children would still want a Wii but I hope you get my point.

I'm a "true" gamer and I prefer the Wii over the HD consoles. The only reason I have a 360 is because of EA NHL games and Tales of Vesperia. Way to generalize, buddy.
