I guess he meant that the number itself is funny in a demonic way, not in terms of market share.

So, this must mean the 360 is the most "hardcore" console, since we all know "hardcore" games are violent and filled with sex and cursing.

Yahh GTA really proves that being the highest seller last gen.

Yep, it does not show the wii as best.


 By saying that E rated games sell better than M rated games, I'm not meaning every M rated game is going to be outsold by every E game chuckles.  In general, E games appeal to wider audiences and parents buy their kids E games (ever looked how well all those worthless E rated movie games sell?).  Unless a developer is specifically going for an M rating, they strive to get as low as rating as possible for that particular game.

The fact is that these ratings don't really matter. The people I usually see looking at the rating a lot more often are the people that want to prove that they are mature. That is the most immature thing I have ever seen.

 I never said it was any wasteland, i just posted some numbers and the rest of you got all bent out of shape. 

Any time anyone says nintendo is mostly games rated e (truth) the wii supporters say its bs, well now there proof to shove in their face.

Why all the hate towards the numbers ? i think anyone interested in playing mature games would find them usefull ? dont you, so whats up.

 I just posted some numbers, and thanks for posting yours.  (i was to lazy to do them)

6 out of the top 20 selling games of last generation were rated M. Three GTA, Two Halo, and MGS.

So a slightly better ratio but still dominated by Teen and Everybody ratings.

Out of the top ten sellers of last gen (GBA, PS2, DS, and the PC are represented) exactly three of them are not child-safe and all of them are GTA. This tells me that GTA may well be an aberration in a broader phenomenon of "games that sell tremendously are ones that can appeal to the biggest audience". [edit: changed "all audiences" to "the biggest audience"]

P.S. Should I conclude that the answer to the question posed in my previous postscript is behind Door Number One?
