Forums - Nintendo - Which game controls better?

I have Super Mario 64 DS right now, but I was thinking about trading it in ($15, or $20 if I'm lucky) and using some spare points to buy it on the Wii VC, which would save me some money.

The reasoning behind this is that I heard the controls are much better with the classic controller than on the DS. I beat the game already, so this choice will only impact me sometime in the future, when I decide to replay the game.

Just for reference, the ''improved graphics'', multiple characters, and mini-games of the DS version mean nothing to me since playing the game on a big screen is more important than these things in this case.

Anybody who has played the VC version, how tight are the controls?

Anyone who has played both, your input would be greatly appreciated.

If anything play it on a N64 with a SD TV. Otherwise, go VC.

Pixel Art can be fun.

Of those two, Virtual Console fo' sure.

Sorry I've played the DS version it s**s!

E3 2006-The beginning of the end. Wii introduced

E3 2008- Armageddon. Wii motion plus introduced. Wii Music. Reggie says Animal crossing was a core game. Massive disappointment. many Wii core gamers selling their Wii.

I loved the DS version, it has better graphics than the N64 version, and alot more features.

I 150% recommend trading it in and getting the VC version; I did the same thing. I can't comment on Classic Controller use, but the game should have fantastic controls regardless; a Gamecube controller is excellent for this game, if one is available to you.

Alright, judging by most of the responses, I will do the trade in.

Thanks for the help everyone!

I used a Cube Controller myself, but Mario 64 worked just fine with that. DS version always felt off for me.
