wow, it's almost like they hurt you feelings. It's only a console, life goes on. Once again, let me repeat, the wii is not exempt from criticism, just like the PS3 gets killed for its price, the 360 for rrod, the wii despite its success is lacking in 3rd party support. While i do believe this will change soon, its still exist today.

It's their opinions and they go at all consoles...

*sigh* Hurt my feelings....no.
Annoy the shit out of me when I want some information about the video game industry fuck yes.

Id understand if they say this occasionally but every damn time no and the way they express it like they're actual facts also annoys.

Anyways thread will be locked!

To an extend, I agree. All three companies basically make toys to be played with, no matter what the specs say.

The problem is how often this is going on. When someone goes on and on and on about something it becomes grating, even if you agree with what they say. That's what we are complaining about here; that the Wii bashing is getting old and would rather hear something else, just like 360 fans are getting tired of hearing about the RROD and PS3 fans are tired of hearing that Sony is the biggest loser out there, even if what they say is fact.

Yes, it's not very professionnal, but I agree with em. Now, we can say nothing, every game is great, every console is great, blablabla...

1up gave Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn a great score. That is enough for me to forgive them for any inconsistencies.

"Why the fuck do Dreamcast games look better than Wii games"

hmm..Dreamcast was a great console during that time. If the Wii was made during last gen 1up would have a different view of the Wii system. Now with both HD consoles have great HD graphix, and Wii being the inferior in that department. So I understand 1up said this.

Fix'd.

Not only in that department. Not to rain on anyones parade but the wii isn't able to calculate the same complex calculations which means worse AI, less things happening at the same time and overall effects the entire game. now i'm not saying that it's bad but it's definately inferior in other departments than graphics alone.

Is the Wii less powerful than the PS3 or Xbox 360 -- duh?

Is the Wii less powerful than the PS2 or DC (or Xbox or GC) -- of course not?

The podcast is making the second claim, which is false, not the first, which is true.

Mike from Morgantown

Well if you look at the post i quoted it stated that the wii was only inferior in the graphics department compaired to the 360 and the ps3. That's a common misconception that i was simply trying to untangle. (The guy "fixed" the other guys post to read in that department)

And ofcourse the wii is more powerful then the ps2 or dc.. or the other consoles of last gen, but not by a lot.

Check out my game about moles ^

Those statements make my head hurt... really they do... there's a difference between opinion and being a retarded fanboy, one makes you a good journalist the other makes you a retard with no taste in anything good, but being a extremist in opinion and voicing it to a crowd that will pay (or click ads) to hear you say it brings in the money, it doesn't further gaming as an industry or make it seem like a credible art form... but it's what we have right now... there will always be these people out there like any other form of the media, but hopefully gaming can become industries much like movies and music where reviewers get their say and it can turn a few people but people just stop caring to hear Ebert and Roper give two thumbs down to a great movie and 1UP rant about not liking the Wii... one day...

Though in a perfect journalistic world it should be talking about the facts, that maybe they didn't like the Wii's line-up (near the end of the year cause you can't say Wii didn't have the best line-ups Q1 and Q2) but won't say things like "name 5 games" bullshit... that's just an unjust and untrue stab to appeal to their own crowd and pull in more fanboys on purpose...

The problem is dickheads like Roger Ebert don't believe games are worthy in terms of narrative or the general play message recieved. This seperates the mediums, and probably isolates these lonely game reviewers from the wider reviewing lexicon, but it also forces a radical narrow view of what reviewing games should be. Now if professional film critics could learn to appreciate paintings in a gallery like they do cinema then maybe they would have a clue. But they don't, They have no fukn idea, like i have no idea. >>> Sistine Chapel, its big and its about gods and shit.

It aint ever going to happen. Just try and get someone to review post modern interactive video art, after being experienced in reviewing normal movies. They don't gell and neither do game reviewers when an open interpretation is skewed.

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

Game Journalists are worried that they'll be next up against the wall as part of Iwata's revolution.

The sad thing is, they could have adapted as the industry did and survived. But they chose to pit their strength against the Wii.

And ultimately will fail and fade to obscurity.

Such is the might of the Wii

You guys are getting so pathetic.

I had a chat with the GT guys from Invisible Walls. They are really laughing with all the hate mails they get from the Wii fankids they get. The same Wii fankids who called them awesome last year thx to the high scores of games as Metriod and SMG.

The only thing you do now is embarrassing yourself. You can't agree with whole the game sites/journalists community and hate them the next year when they didn't change. Complain to Nintendo and be happy that their are still companies like Sega who bring you games as Madworld and The Conduit.
