Those statements make my head hurt... really they do... there's a difference between opinion and being a retarded fanboy, one makes you a good journalist the other makes you a retard with no taste in anything good, but being a extremist in opinion and voicing it to a crowd that will pay (or click ads) to hear you say it brings in the money, it doesn't further gaming as an industry or make it seem like a credible art form... but it's what we have right now... there will always be these people out there like any other form of the media, but hopefully gaming can become industries much like movies and music where reviewers get their say and it can turn a few people but people just stop caring to hear Ebert and Roper give two thumbs down to a great movie and 1UP rant about not liking the Wii... one day...
Though in a perfect journalistic world it should be talking about the facts, that maybe they didn't like the Wii's line-up (near the end of the year cause you can't say Wii didn't have the best line-ups Q1 and Q2) but won't say things like "name 5 games" bullshit... that's just an unjust and untrue stab to appeal to their own crowd and pull in more fanboys on purpose...
