At least the OP didn't say that KZ2 has less "kiddy" graphics, that the community would be better, that it has a point other than going from A to B.

^These are all things I was thinking. Maybe you like the game. Maybe I like the game. Is the average Joe who sees an ad on TV with a sackperson in bright colours jumping around in a 2D environment going to think "I HAVE TO GET THIS!"?

Now, the same average Joe has a good chance of seeing an ad on TV with an FPS with incredible graphics where you take cover and shoot a bunch of aliens with glowing red eyes is going to find it appealing, right?

Joe = PS3 owner. Look at CoD4's sales, a multiplat, then look at the sales of any game which looks remotely "kiddy", exclusive. See the difference?

LBP is going to sell very well, the way it is going. Easily crack 3 million sales. But Killzone 2 will do more. I'm certain of it.

One thing also is that LBP and R2 released during the holidays and KZ2 is releasing after the holidays. People either A: don't have the money to buy more games or B: are playing their Christmas games (think COD WAW).

Also even if KZ2 recieved all this advertising the general public prolly wouldn't even know what the commercial was for. I mean have you seen sony's crap commercials, games on the back of peoples jackets and other nonsensical crap that just shows snippets of games and no real game play. I dunno I just think Sony's commercials show to little and are just plain dumb.

I mean I have seen more Fallout 3 commercials this year than I have seen PS3 commercials in my entire life.

even if all your claims are true, kz2 is still not gonna sell as well as people think. no fanbase, generic shooter, generic weapons, generic enemies = loss. now if it did have a fanbase, like cod does, it would sell even if it's generic.

btw w budget doesnt = advertising. LBP apparnetly has quite a small budget yet has got more advertising than any other PS3 game in UK at least

If it gets 750k week one (very respectable), it'll do a lot more than 2.3 million lifetime. CoD4 did 445k week one, and is now 3.8 million and still selling.

I would say

Of Course you should compare those games, they are Sony's exclusives , they are both shooters, i really do not see why people should stop comparing those games sales wise, R2 had huge amount of hype behind it (KZ2 has even more).
