I haven't played Fallout 3 but I loved the original Fallout and plan to play Fallout 2 soon.
I find Oblivion both charming and engaging.
Is Fallout 3 for me?

yes, khuutra. If you like Fallout and you like oblivion then Fallout 3 is pretty much a hybrid of the two.

You can find me on facebook as Markus Van Rijn, if you friend me just mention you're from VGchartz and who you are here.

Except it's nowhere near as good as Fallout, but it is better than Oblivion. Think the average of the two.

The visuals arent even as bad as people make them be, the performence/ Fr isnt bad at all, that patch really did help it seems. The 1st hour was ok, but after that it has been an amazing experience thus far, Id say its my 3rd best game this year, and who knows it may climb to 2nd best.. |
I told you this my friend. When you were family oriented and going all "MGS4 or nothing" there really was no talking to you, but I've said from the start, and was the first one on this site, to declare Fallout 3 my GotY 2008, and I stand by that. It's not as good as Fallout 2, but it managed to bring something really special to gaming, and is certainly a landmark.
MGS4 was an ending, Fallout 3 was a beginning, thus, it at the very least "deserves" the accolade more, all else being equal.
Console biased folks, like you and I, must be very careful not to marginalize games simply because they are multiplatform.
I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.
NO NO, NO NO NO.
@Zen
My friend said the same thing "MGS4 was an ending, Fallout 3 was a beginning" which is why he likes the story in fallout 3 better.. I still like MGS4 alot more though, but fallout 3 is amazing.

Fallout 3 is one of the greatest RPG experiences i've had in my life, and that's saying a lot since i began playing RPG's since the first of the Ultima series for the PC.
I loved the first two fallouts, especially the second one (holy hand grenade of antioch anyone? XD) but this one has set a new standart for open-world rpg's in my opinion.
I'm just waiting for the DLC and the extra hours of fun that it will bring.
I've just got to say, keep going Bethesda and bring us Elder Scrolls 5 ;)

What? The PS3 version wasn't supposed to have such water effects. That patch must have done wonders. Now it looks on par if not better than the X360 version.
The patch did wonders in the PS3 version. Its really a shame that this lvl of quality wasnt in the original copy.
