Forums - Nintendo - CoD: WaW Wii Will Sell 2 Million At Least

i think many of you would be suprised how many casuals would be interested in a WW2 shooter. Much more than a Alien shooter imo. And since about 45 million people own Wiis it would not take too much to do that.

I see people mention the PS2 version flopping, and to me that is a given, it does not offer ANYTHING you cant get on the HD versions, well except price.

Also people were not necesarily calling Carnival Games a Flop... They were just like well I am sure 2k is making money of this shovelware, read the early comments on the game if you do not believe me. It was adjust by like 60% then had good legs. Game Party was much the same, but on a smaller scale.

End of 2009 Predictions (Set, January 1st 2009)

Wii- 72 million   3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases

360- 37 million   Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak

PS3- 29 million  Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut

Do you have any proof of how much they love WW2 shooters?

Save for the Ps360 ones, I cannot find any WW2 shooters above 3M, and only 4 above 2M...

CoD WaW on Wii doesn't have local multiplayer, so I can't see it reaching two million in sales. One million is possible, but even that will take a while.

The PS2 version is apparently a pretty bad game all around, most likely developed by a fourth string team. The console might still get some of the important multiplatform games, but it's already clear that publishers are moving on and PS2 versions will drop significantly in quality over the next two years (mostly sports and movie tie in games which tend to be released until the end of a system's life).

Quantum of Solace will become the first million seller than COD WAW cofirmed! :P j/k

end of core gaming days prediction:

E3 2006-The beginning of the end. Wii introduced

E3 2008- Armageddon. Wii motion plus introduced. Wii Music. Reggie says Animal crossing was a core game. Massive disappointment. many Wii core gamers selling their Wii.

E3 2010- Tape runs out

 nothing more than anecdotes.

I know several people who are not interested in Halo/Resitance games, but like Tom Clancy/ Call of Duty esque stuff. Also, parents buy games for stupid reasons. I actually know a parent who bought CoD:WaW for their kid because of its "historical" value compared to other games, also someone who is very Patriot would be intruiged by a WW2 game or Modern Warfare, or a kid who wants to be a soldier when he grows up. IMO most scifi type people are already "gamer" types, they may not be hard core, but gaming is "in" for them.

CoD: WAW will sell 500k on Wii, with a chance on 1m in the future. Anything else is to far away right now, I think.

500k in 2-4 weeks. Maybe 1m in 10-16 weeks.

It has a good chance. long legs due to being on the Wii with a high install base and the gamers are going to give this game a shot.

Was it under tracked, possibly.

Will it sell 2 million, I doubt it. I agree with Rol's multiplayer comment. The first FPS that really nails everything and includes this has potential to reach 2-3 million if advertised properly.

Or if the Mario Paintball ever made it out of fans' hopes and dreams it would sell 5+ million.

I dont think 2 million will happen, i just dont

I hope my 360 doesn't RRoD

i wouldnt doubt two million. i dont think anyone would have thought that carnival games would do it so who knows.

As for COD: WaW, if it had all the same features as the HD versions then itll get 2 million no doubt, but it doesnt.

well, I was right... came in in the top 20 (no. 19) for december in NDP. It was like 120th here on VGC, it is not a flop, 2 million is possible. Activision had better put COD:6 on the Wii.
