Exactly, you're grasping my train of thought. Microsoft can't beat Sony straight up this gen. They can only win by winning incremental battles. They are taking it slow, because that is all they can do for now. Overlapping and rethinking year after year.

Exactly, you're grasping my train of thought. Microsoft can't beat Sony straight up this gen. They can only win by winning incremental battles. They are taking it slow, because that is all they can do for now.

 

let's wait and see how people will react to $/euro 249.00 PS3 .

it might be received very well,,,it might not.   nothing is for sure now.

 

cause as is , PS3 is just too expensive .(amount of people that are willing to put down half a grand for a gaming machine are limited)

 

if sony drops the price to 299 and doesn't see a good permenant boost then 360 can win the generation.

 

remembre 199 is the sweet spot for gaming consoles and MS has played that card already,,,it's time for sony to play some of their cards.(PS2 trade-in program being one)

 Maybe because Killzone 2 is the only Non-GT game expected to sell over 2 M LTD maybe?

 Microsoft still has price cuts in their future and newer models. If Sony is going to fight back 2009 has to be the year, because after it's first 3 years it's lifespan will be spelled out. Sorry if this is confusing.

 Well, I am basing my release dates on comfirmed dates for Q1 release in N/A and Europe, not games that only has a release date in Japan only. Using the IGN list, I don't see any of the PS3 games listed anywhere in the UK or American release calendar with comfirmed dates . And with Japan these days, if it is not an RPG, or on a DS or PSP, it will be hard sell. Lost Ocean and Ninja Blade will more than hold there own against Yakuza 3 and Demon Soul in Japan.

For those that think GTA4 DLC won't mean anything is in for a surprise. It has a new story, characters, vehicles, soundtracks. It is like a whole new game and will be only $20.00. It will sell a ton based on name alone.

 The GTA4 DLC, Halo Wars & the Halo 3 ODST will sell very well. This wont be a problem. It's the other games that will just be bolster points expanding library value just like the majority of 2008's games minus AAA titles. The AAA exclusive titles are just the last line of defense that truly define year for a system, much like Gears 2 and Fable 2 were this year for the 360. Think of how many games came out in the 360's library earlier this year that had bolster sales for the 3 quarters before quarter 4. The 360 was vulnerable to the 180% increase in sales after MGS4 and the PS3 price cut. I highly doubt they will be wounded anywhere near to earlier this year in 2009 with the arcade at $199 and a steady but able and diverse group of interesting games coming out.

I think the 360 once again has the better exclusive lineup, though one game will sell systems, Wii sports, Halo and GTA proves that, but Killzone 2 is a hard one to predict. Look at LBP, I thought for sure the PS3 would get a hardware bump but it didn't do much. I will be getting a PS3 for LBP, but I have no interest in KZ2. If they want it to sell, Sony better make a better commercial than resistance 2, yikes!
