Well I really didn't mean to say world listens to Famitsu. I'm saying with the recent review on the game. The hardcore PS3 audience in Japan might steer clear of the game which then hampers the sales over there. And considering over here in America JRPG's have been getting beating after beating of awful reviews.
Who knows how this game is going to fair well over here.
its not legit...we dont get 1st day numbers till tomorrow, it could have flopped and sold 50k, or 100k, or 300k w.e
THe 1st day numbers are out tomorrow

Depends on what perspective you want to look at it from, but generally i would look at how much the company needs to make a profit and ad another 50% before i would call it "good." I mean it's just like Valkyrie Chronicles, you can compare it to games like FE and Disgaea because they're similar games but you're completely ignoring the fact that VC actually needs to sell much much more to make the same amount of money as those other games. Everyone was saying that VC would sell well in the west to make up the costs and it bombed there too. RPGs are unproven on the PS3, especially in the west, you can't assume it's gonna sell huge amounts in the west.
I know people want to say "well it's good for the ps3" but games have to pay for themselves you know.
currently playing: Skyward Sword, Mario Sunshine, Xenoblade Chronicles X
@ xlost

But their last effort, Rogue Galaxy, sold over 350,000 in Japan. That'd be a better barometer, I think.
Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

I agree, but at that time the PS2 had what 20 million consoles out there?
And Dark Cloud released in December of 2000 when the PS2 had 3.4 million consoles sold.
So, DC 1 and WKC are both new ips (at the time of release). Both released during late December, and had more similar userbases. Why couldn't Dark Cloud be used as a barometer?
WKC needs to do much better given the budget and time spent, but realistically, the two games are similar.
