Remember when they claimed guncon more accurate than wiimote and all that jazz?
It would be funny to read one of those old thread.

@ stephen - impressive list, but you forgot 1/9th of Wii Play :P
And 1/3rd of Disaster: Day of Crisis!
I love lightgun games and I'm very happy the Wii revived that genre. The new HotD will be awesome.
I also love the lightgun games, can't wait for Overkill. I wish they made remakes of good old ones from arcades.

For rapid fire aiming a two hand grip is the way to properly aim or fire a pistol accuralty as you have found - even a plastic light gun - use both eyes and center the pistol between them equally - do not use the sights it's too slow, just look over the top of the slide and go with instinct. Using one hand results in overswing and longer recovery between shots, inaccuracy , or is simply to slow to aim with just one hand ,the trigger pressure will pull the shot off target. A PS2 style controller with an IR light pickup would also be quite effective - by default they require a 2 hands grip. Would really like to see Vampire Night , End-game and Virtua Cop come out for the Wii, and probably plenty of fans of the Time-crisis series would like it on the Wii. Now that the old CRT TV's are gone you can't really play the old scan pickup type games anymore - and a Big LCD or projection is better anyway so the Wii could really help bring alot of these earlier titles back to a new audience. |
sorry , and i do not understand what you have said , and if you say it clealy , and maybe i can help you
A much better thread than the last one. Yeah, I'm happy and excited to see the genre making a comeback, even if it's just a minor one. And a console-exclusive light-gun game: when was the last time that happened? Now if we could just get our hands on a Time Crisis compilation...
Also, how was Wild West Guns? Does anyone here know if it's worth the ten bucks?

I thought it pretty clear - but simplified >>
two handed grip for aiming = Good , Single handed = lousy accuracy and slow.
PS2 light gun games only work on OLD CRT TV's and were not so accurate or reliable.
Wii light gun games work on ALL TV's but best on LCD & Plasma and is accurate.
CRT TV is you know those big heavy old TV's which are as deep as they are high and have flicker and weigh lotts -not many places sell them anymore.

Is Overkill the only light gun game coming for Wii sometime soon? Any other ones maybe?
Not sure when release date is but
“Elevator Action: Death Parade”
is probably on it's way to the Wii. It is a light gun FPS game based on the classic 2D spy game from the 8 bit era - where you move thru buildings in elevators or esculators obtaining keys, ammo and extras and dueling with enemy in ongoing gun fights.
I doubt it will be possible to have it on the PS3 or Xbox360 they dont have a working pointer system like the Wii does. After the the low sales of TC4 on the PS3 probably partly because of the pathetic quality of the included peripheral on the PS3, Taito will bring this direct to the Wii and skip the the last-gen consoles entirly.
