Sounds weird , I mean so your basically in an elevator and shoot when it opens? "on it's way to the Wii." did they say anything about that or is that what people think?

It's what people think and it's pretty much a given - of the 3 new consoles the Wii has >10X the number of light gun games of the the PS3 and and the X360 has None - i dont expect this to change simply because the Wii is the only platform which has built in aiming system and with >40Million user base it's sure to sell nicely.
Never played elevator action obviously - get yourself a MAME emulator system and you should be able to find a copy of it to try out.
Not sure how the Arcade/Wii version plays though since it is only based on the concept of a 2D game but is actually a full first person view 3D game should be good though.
The thing which sucked most about TC4 was the FPS part and the insanley complex controls of the light gun - they should have made the peripheral simple and clean probably wireless and just 2 playing buttons - but the developers were clueless and made something overly complex, cheap feeling, awkward looking and ugly which would turn a light - game fan like me away completly.

If House of the Dead: Overkill is anything like Umbrella Chronicles it´s
going to kick ass bigtime! Can´t wait for that game to be realesed
(Lucky for me, I can play some HotD 2&3 Return while I wait)
i call bullshit on Elevator Action. Thats so bloody far out of left field i dk what to say.
Really?
“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

Look at it this way almost every game in the arcades makes it's way to console eventually.
The Wii is gonna have this simply because it's a light gun game not sure when but it will happen - taito make their money selling games and like most other popular arcade games it will come to the console.
It's like the Cinema have you ever seen a Movie which did not end up on DVD/Blu-ray once it was finnished in the cinema !. The game cabinet looks good it should do well in the arcades and even better on the Wii.
So once i finnish umbrella ,HOTH, Wild west guns and ghost squad mabey this will be next.

I remeber laughing when some reviewer got all over Link Crossbow Trainer because it wasn't even a game. I thought, shit, now he tells me. I've probably played it 30-40 hrs and I could have sworn I was having a good time.
That was some great target practice and for me it never got old.

Yes i think the reviewers tend to be thumbstick gamers - i just learned to ignore them though.
I considered vampire night one of my favourite games but they tend to allways give these games low scores.
Comparitivly i instantly would give any game which uses the thumbstick FPS view-move mechanic my instant no-buy score of 0, these games are best played with a mouse.
For me the ease of pick up and play without having to learn a complex play mechanic and the simple but immersive and instinctive action of the light gun games allways get my vote.
Also dont even like time crysis as much as virtua cop games i think the Duck/Hide mechanic rather detracts from the flow of the games, and also not sure how i will find some of the more elaborate control offerings on the Wii will be to my likeing. The elevator action arcade game looks like my sort of thing though.

I Came across the blurb for the guncon 3 from the PS3 time crysis 4 where namco claim it is more accurate than the wiimote. It's an interesting point but not entirely true.
The Wii sensnor bar only has 2 ir sources the guncon3 bar has 6 points.
However good positioning and setup of the sensor bar or use of a better sensor bar will even things out very quickly.
Also the Wiimote is capable of tracking 4 points so any developer who wants to provide their own 4 point sensor bar is certainly easy for them to do if they wanted further options for greater accuracy.
There is also the ability of the wiimote to use the accelerometer to provide tilt detection which can be used to compensate for changes in height ,so a player can stand or sit and have this automatically compensated for during play, along with the use of hand gestures and other motion features.
Whilst developers are lazy and generally slow to develop stuff there is considerable scope for greater accuracy from the wiimote and many additional play mechanices as yet unexplored.
