And negative sales wouldn't hurt.

But we all know that this won't happen, because the Wii has Sonic games.

Believe in iSuppli (iSupply?) Rol. Believe.

Their reasoning for the shrinking installed base is probably that the upcoming Sonic games suck so much that people stop playing videogames altogether. The Sonic Support Squad has to declare war against iSuppli if this is true.

I'm right behind you if that's true. No one talks smack about Sonic. No one.

Time for someone to make a picture of Truman waving that article in his hands.

A bit harsh of the OP to dig this one out and make these guys look so foolish.

There were plenty of these back in the day. Malstrom actually has a lot of these posted on his site

"Pier was a chef, a gifted and respected chef who made millions selling his dishes to the residents of New York City and Boston, he even had a famous jingle playing in those cities that everyone knew by heart. He also had a restaurant in Los Angeles, but not expecting LA to have such a massive population he only used his name on that restaurant and left it to his least capable and cheapest chefs. While his New York restaurant sold kobe beef for $100 and his Boston restaurant sold lobster for $50, his LA restaurant sold cheap hotdogs for $30. Initially these hot dogs sold fairly well because residents of los angeles were starving for good food and hoped that the famous name would denote a high quality, but most were disappointed with what they ate. Seeing the success of his cheap hot dogs in LA, Pier thought "why bother giving Los Angeles quality meats when I can oversell them on cheap hotdogs forever, and since I don't care about the product anyways, why bother advertising them? So Pier continued to only sell cheap hotdogs in LA and was surprised to see that they no longer sold. Pier's conclusion? Residents of Los Angeles don't like food."

"The so-called "hardcore" gamer is a marketing brainwashed, innovation shunting, self-righteous idiot who pays videogame makers far too much money than what is delivered."

dont ge me wrong, but very few people predicted that Wii would have became the super console of the time...

The post was funny as soon as it mentioned gamespot :P that site is a joke, and the AU version is worse than the others

wow that is a backwards prediction but in their defense playstation did pretty well on its last two consoles

haha nice reading.

Yes, people thought the Wii would fail hard. But it didn't.

And to be fair, without the economy the way it was, the PS3 could reach 30 million.

No one predicted the Wii in first, the PS3 dead last, and the 360 the jrpg console of choice.

Yet, today, America's leaders are reenacting every folly that brought these great powers [Russia, Germany, and Japan] to ruin -- from arrogance and hubris, to assertions of global hegemony, to imperial overstretch, to trumpeting new 'crusades,' to handing out war guarantees to regions and countries where Americans have never fought before. We are piling up the kind of commitments that produced the greatest disasters of the twentieth century.
