LMFAO wow people had some pretty wild predictions. You should start listing off people who predicted that it would already be at 50%. Right now we are halfway through 09 and it still hasn't happened.

I say it will happen for sure by the holidays latest. Right now it is not selling more than PS360 combined.

Wii will never reach 50% cause NPD will always release some strange sales numbers which result in Wii being adjusted down.

I don't really want to make a list of who was wrong/right.

Initially I thought the Wii would be at 50% by the middle of 09, and that possibly a PS3 price cut would put it back below 50% by the end of the year.

are you insane? NOOO!! final fantasy 13 hits ps3 this year in japan and next in usa/eu....ps3 sales will me insane... the demo alone made the ps3 sell 60k let alone the whole game? maybe 250k?

Well everyone was wrong because the numbers were inflated and Wii was at 49.6% at some point, then a massive downwards adjustment happened. Obviously Wii haters like perpride will laugh without knowledge.

Dude I am not a Wii hater I am a Wii owner. One of the problems I have with this site is that one day you are called a Wii fanboy and the next day your called a Wii hater.I think it's a little late to start hating on Wii now that it has clearly demolished the competition. The only thing my post was pointing to was that most people that have posted here thought it was hit 50% already. Its obvious that it will eventually and to be quite frank I'm surprised it hasn't already.

Personally I thought it would happen in Q1 too. I think we were all flabergasted by how could Wii was doing during the holidays. It clearly will not reach 50% till atleast August now.

Now it's tougher to guess, but seeing as it will rise again in Japan, and with Wii Sports REsort,Wii Fit Plus, and NSMBWii for the west, I think it might just do it.

The longer it takes the Wii to move the percentages is ever closer to big HD console game releases (FF13, where PS3 will win Japan for two months at least) and PS3 price cuts. Might be tough for 50%

Not at all. Don't forget about adjustments! Everyone simply assumes VGC's numbers are correct, and base their predictions off of it. I guess you can call people wild for trusting VGC data, but otherwise it isn't really the case.

That's the problem with going back and criticizing some of the older threads. The X360 price cut effect wasn't shown before adjustments either, I believe, which is why the holiday turnout was a little shocking.
