Forums - Sony - Apparently PS3 owners really like their Diesel jeans

Because the DLC clothes is selling very well according to Sony. Outselling the video service's first week in four days is impressive.

Home items selling like hotcakes

We're not sure why, but it seems that quite a few of you out there are buying Home pay-for content. In an interview with Silicon Alley Insider, Susan Panico (Senior Director of the PlayStation Network) says that content in the social networking service is selling tremendously. In fact, in the first four days of the open beta Home produced more money for Sony than the video download service did in its first week.

We're disheartened to hear that one of the biggest sellers is the ridiculously priced Santa outfit. So if you went ahead and bought a £5 Santa suit: congratulations. You've just told Sony that it's okay to charge 79p for a pair of virtual gloves.

Panico says it's "a classic 80/20 model, where 20 percent of your customers create 80 percent of your income." Makes sense to us. There's already a very vocal pro-Home community. We'll be happy to join in next month when some of that promised content starts to drop.

Virtual jeans, I've been saying all along, that's where the real money is.

Paying for virtual accessories for virtual characters? Wow haha. To me that just seems well weird but obviously its making some happy which is cool. If I ever get my own PS3, I think I'd just stick to the free stuff.

lmao wow

ok I bought a nice sweater for 99 cents, thats it, I didnt buy anything else.

Why would you pay for 'Diesel' jeans in a virtual environment?!... Wtf! That's just stupid. XD.

In real-life though! I can understand! I do it myself ... Not much though! Have like 3 jeans from Diesel.

come on, own up. Who bought a £5 Santa outfit?

Its like I said - Sony's plan is milk their "small" userbase for as much as they can. It looks like they want to pay (for everything), so every game from now on with have chargeable DLC.

Rather than have a "big" userbase, paying a "small" amount - they want a "small" userbase paying a premium amount.

Good on 'em.

personally, i wouldn't buy stuff (maybe i'd buy an elvis poster for my home) but who's to say how people should spend their money.

i think virtual pants are worth more than a fat diamond engagement ring. i wonder if they'll have a second hand thrift shop.

Wow, some people have issues if they are trying to look good in a virtual world

I hope my 360 doesn't RRoD
