Stop being contrary.. and have a dicsussion for a change
Too HUman will surely be one of the most expensive games ever. 10 years development and it will be marketed big time. Im not knocking it, I just said i will be buying it day one. But it HAS to be huge otherwise it fails.

And then no one will make any 3 party xbox exclusives right?

thats a fair point but it could be argued that the PS3 needs exclusives more than the 360 otherwsie its higher pricepoint becomes a burden.

If both consoles have the same games in the main why pay more for the PS3.

different exclusives= different customers

Blu ray for one is a big selling factor.

@Kowenicki, GTAIV, I know its not exclusive, but it proves PS3 can sell Games a lot. I'd wait for GT5 and FFXIII

Actually, it was only PS3 fanboys that expected huge things from R2. The first one sold well for the same reason Red Steel did on the Wii - kinda fun and the first shooter on the console

QFT. Resistance was a good shooter but it only sold 3 million because it was bundled to death and the only good game available for 6 months.
So 1 million in a couple of weeks is not bad for the successor without any bundles.

agreed... perhaps thats why its down in the US year on year this xmas.... people can now get a stand alone player for much less after all.

for less indeed, but that doesnt change the fact that people who want a gaming console might find it tempting to get a ps3 instead of a 360 due to the blu ray.

I have heard some people say one million worldwide week one.

That seems high?

Seeing as COD: WaW sold only 750k in its first week and it going off name brand appeal, I am going to say yes...

Depending on your who you ask its either a medicore to crap game (the first Killzone) or a triple A titile in the making (Killzone Liberation for the PSP)

Not including myself (cause I am boycotting shooters on the PS3, especially published by SCE) its seems that the reviews for the single player for R2 is what helped killed its sales.  And since I still believe mostly core gamers are the ones that have a PS3 at this point and chances are they have a X360 by now, they choosed Gears 2 instead.  Or they choosed neither and just went with COD:WaW...

I'm just saying...

I certainly hope it wont. But as the competition will be much smaller for Killzone 2 compared to Resistance 2, I don't think it will. I also think that Killzone 2 will be the better game of the two.

It surely WILL be one of the most expensive games ever. 4 and a half years development and it will be marketed big time. Im not knocking it, I just said i will be buying it day one. But it HAS to be huge otherwise it fails.

you are surely mistaken,,,it's some thing like 3 years and 2 months by the time the game releases.

beside sony invested in this game for oother studios aswell. It's not just for gurrilla .Sony will gi9ve the out come from this development to most of their first party studio.

OT:

600 K first week WW
1.9 first year
3 million LTD

the game will be great but commercially i m not sure(due to killzone 1).

it depends on 2 things:

1 how will it be reviewed?above 88 on game rankings or not?
2 Will Sony do a proper ad campaign for this game or not?

well what you seem to be forgetting is that resistance 2 is an awsome game, and surely over time you will see the sales number keep creeping up. for some reason ps3 owners have a far different buying trend than 360 owners, i cant explain but thats how it is.

killzone 2 although its not in a the holiday season, it has no compititon in the shelfs so in that regard it will do very very well, almost all previews have rave reviews about it, and one things for certain its the best looking console game to date.

i predict killzone will have huge sales with solid lifetime sales, and its surely looking to be one of the best titles of 2009.
