Games do no longer really sell (most of) the Wiis.

 

What the early games did, was make the Wii popular. Those games are the most important games in this entire generation.

 

The Wii is selling on its popularity, which it earned by Wii Sports/the other launch games/the remote. All Nintendo has to do is keep the popularity, and that doesn't take the same amount of games as turning popularity around takes.

 

Also, I'm not sure most Wii owners would agree the Ps3 has  a better line-up.

As much as I love Wii, I would love to know which games Wii owners think are on par with PS3 games.

 

 

 Most of the games I own actually. I have been playing the same way for 25 years now and it was about time something new and refreshing came along. I wasn't going to upgrade this gen to play the same games with flashier graphics. If I wanted that I would buy a top end PC. Then I heard about this radical shift that Nintendo were doing and thought I'd give it a try. Best decision I ever made

 

 25 years? Did you miss the biggest change in gaming ever? The change into 3D? You can not in any way say that 3D games are the same as 2D games. It is a FAR bigger change than the one the Wii produced.

I could accept 10 years, but 25 years is just wrong.

This is extraordinarily ignorant, even coming from you leo-j. Wii had multiple games sell TEN MILLION copies this year: Wii Fit and Mario Kart Wii being the standouts. Not to mention, Wii has nine different games with 5m or more lifetime - PS3 has one.

I'd say it's exactly because of the games that Wii is selling so well.

You have no idea what 1:1 gesture control means do you?   The 1:1 has nothing to do with time.   It's the exact 3D spatial motion replicated in game as detected in real life.  Basically put, it recognizes itself in 3D space.   Currently when you point away from the IR bar, the Wii remote losing context and doesn't know were it is in relation to the TV.   Wii Motion Plus will correct that.

 

One of the things I love most about people making fools of themselves during meltdowns is when someone breaks it down to them.

I love the fresh smell of meltdowns in a numbers thread. It has a distinct odor of failure with a touch of despair!

 

It just makes me laugh when people make claims that are so blatantly wrong like that.

So far we've had:
No 1:1 controls = lag
Wii = fad
Wii sales will die in 2009.

 

Funnier still is they never admit wrong when proven wrong.  They cling to these fallacious claims like life jackets during a storm at sea in a canoe.

When the wii in 2007 had a better gaming library than the ps3, everyone was "HAHA WII HAS MORE AAA GAMES THAN PS3 LOLZZ"
