taking advantage of a fad as apposed to being a fad is different, belive you me when the fad factor is over, the wii bubble will burst and it will crash and crash hard...I know I sound like a fanboy and it sounds unbelivable cuz of how well the wii is doing so far...but all things good eventually come to an end and the market is very unpredictable at the moment...but it will come to pass, it's really the only outcome, and you can quote me on this :D
| leo-j said: It doesnt matter what makes no sense to me is the following: BOTH THE XBOX 360 AND PLAYSTATION 3 HAD a significantly better games lineup than the wii this year, yet it doesnt matter in any single way. GAMES do not sell consoles anymore but the name wii does |
Not in the casual market but you're right when you said games doesnt sell consoles anymore. In fact system seller games only exist in the first two years of a console cycle.

true, and yet it get's outsold by the wii, and it's sad cuz I just recently saw an advert with a wii and 2 games, one being wii sports was sold for like just under 400 aussie bucks, and a pro 360 with 2 games which also sold under 400 aussie bucks and in fact was slightly cheaper than the wii, and yet the wii is the one that sells out...it's not even a value factor anymore, the wii just sells regardlesly...and honestly speaking there is onely one thing that can make somehting sell regardless of value factor, functionality, or what ever, it's the FAD factor. |
It is not a fad. The word fad came from for a day. If it was a fad, it would stop selling well after year one. It is 2008, the thing released in November 2006 for Japan in Americas, and I think December '06 elsewhere. Two full years, and its marketshare is still growning and it is running towards 50%.
and people wonder why there is so much hate for sony.....

That's what fad means? That's kind of cool .

That is VGChartz LONGEST review. And it's NOT Cute Kitten DS
The Wii bubble will burst and its sales will drop drastically, in 6-10 years, several years after it's passed 200 million sales.

The last 3 months must have been very hard for you :( |
Why would it be hard for me? Enjoying little big planet, resistance 2, and fallout 3 must have been so hard for me

You have no idea what 1:1 gesture control means do you? The 1:1 has nothing to do with time. It's the exact 3D spatial motion replicated in game as detected in real life. Basically put, it recognizes itself in 3D space. Currently when you point away from the IR bar, the Wii remote losing context and doesn't know were it is in relation to the TV. Wii Motion Plus will correct that.

One of the things I love most about people making fools of themselves during meltdowns is when someone breaks it down to them.
I love the fresh smell of meltdowns in a numbers thread. It has a distinct odor of failure with a touch of despair!
Tag - "No trolling on my watch!"

I love to see Sony fanboys getting mad... they say so many funny things!
