He is trying to say the wii isnt WAY more powerful than the ps2..

The xbox was what twice as powerful as the ps2? The wii is as powerful as the Xbox.

It's called fun.  I cannot break out my DS at a party and expect people from 22-50 to have fun.  I can with the PS3 and 360 but only with a few games (GHWT, RB, Buzz).  However, with the Wii there are a bunch of games that will be fun (Wii Sports, Wii Play, Wii Fit, GHWT, RB, M and S at the Olympics).  Heck, I could even start up the VC version of Super Mario Bros. and people would have a great time.

Oh, and the Wii does a lot of cool stuff, you can look at pix with it or turn the pix into puzzles, surf the net, stream music, draw on pix...

You're ignoring Japan then? Then the WW (non-Japan) market share is

Wii:  46.4%

X360: 32.7%

Ps3: 20.7%

 

So then it is (without Japan) feeding a bit more on the Ps3 than on the 360. Still, that might not be the case when Japan numbers come in. You shouldn't do WW without all numbers in you know :P

least features - people don't care

worst graphics - see previous generation

crappy online - not

laggy controls - not

 

crappy online - yes, friendcodes are crap, it's not even a universal friend code as each game has a different one, there are all the exploits people find in online games which break the fun and no patches to fix these issues insight as it doesn't support it, I'd say it's crappy when compared to PSN and Live

Laggy controls - yes, it's not 1:1 controls, as admitted by nintendo hence the wiimotion plus which gives 1:1, so if it's not 1:1 then there is some lag

 

So, i'd say i was right on the money :D

 Because I went to many BestBuy and Wall-Mart last week here in Canada and everywhere Wii was sold out last week. A lot of people were also complaining about not finding one. The situation seems to be even worse in the US.

Anyone to think the PS3/360 will ever pass the Wii at this point is just in plain denial.



  • 2010 MUST Haves: WKC, Heavy Rain, GoWIII, Fable III, Mass Effect 2, Bayonetta, Darksiders, FFXIII, Alan Wake, No More Heroes 2, Fragile Dreams: FRotM, Trinity: SoZ, BFBC2.
  • Older Need To Buys: Super Mario Bros. Wii, Mario Kart Wii, Deadspace, Demon's Souls, Uncharted 2.

There is definitely more to list that I want, but that's my main focus there.

 It has taken off ala the Ipod (and DS). It is something everyone wants, regardless of whether they are really interested in it. We're in a time in which "people have everything" and it is a pretty easy thing to give someone.

 

I'm willing to bet that a lot the Wii sales are from people who have very little clue what the Wii even is.

 

It has become "cool" like the Ps2 did, but to an even bigger extent.

Yeah. As much as I love the Wii, the reason people buy the Wii isn't the things I love about it. That sounds a bit odd really...

 

I can't really figure out what made it so dang cool in the first place though. Did the "family concept" take off at once?
