The game was already delayed 3 weeks after the PC/360 versions' Aug 27th release date.  Apparently it's release date is now being pushed back even further to an "unknown amount of time".

Stranglehold delayed on PS3

"PS3 owners hoping that the mass-slippage of Unreal Engine 3 games is over will be disappointed to hear that Stranglehold, originally heading to PS3 next month has been pushed back.

Dutch site PS3Only received word from Midway this afternoon that the PS3 version of the John Woo shooter - which was already scheduled weeks behind the PC and 360 versions - has been pushed back for an unknown amount of time and will not make the previous September release.

Midway announced that both the PC and Xbox 360 versions of the game will be released on August 27.

This marks the latest in a long line of tardy Unreal Engine 3 games on PS3, including Rainbow Six Vegas, GRAW 2, Fatal Inertia and Medal of Honor: Airborne - which is due for release months after the Xbox 360 version.

Epic's own Unreal Tournament III is due out later this year, by which time, we suspect, UE3 games will suddenly start coming out on time.

Id' new Id Tech 5 engine, which powers the gorgeous shooter Rage, is claimed to work simultaneously across all platforms. If true, this could prove to be a huge draw to developers after UE3's PS3 troubles.

PS3 owners might have to make do with Heavenly Sword for now then. We're currently waiting for Midway's official word on the delay, and will report back sharpish when we do." 

I dont see strangle hold as a great game to get, I might get it though since it is a much better value than the 360 version.

anybody knows if the problem is the U3 engine or if they simply don't belive in the PS3 userbase?

I guess the delay is only for Europe... Strange...

I didn't look for that game until I played the demo and had a lot of fun... fraging those bad guys in the nuts and other parts of their body....

Early reviews of the demo are in and people are digging it.  But, since it was delayed and will be Xbox only for a while (console) then it must suck, right Leo?  You'd never have a hint of fanboyism in your posts.

It won't be considered a better value if the game is more buggy or has framerate issues. Yes it comes with a movie but after you watch the movie it's down to the game. Hopefully the extra time with sort out whatever issues they are having with the PS3. Personally I buy the game for the game.

I know precisely what he's talking about, and it's not really a better value.

The PS3 version and 360 version both retail at 59.99. The PS3 has a "Special edition" where the original movie also comes with game, at 69.99. If you feel the movie is worth 10 bucks, then it is a better value.
