Perhaps there are those people, but there are also the people like me, who pirate games on PSP because it is just so easy and you are made to feel like a sucker for not doing it by people that do do it.

People like you are pretty rare in current economic theory however.

In general people are conditioned to WANT to pay for stuff.  It's preferable to actually pay a fair price for something then to steal it.

The only people who pirate are people who see the product they want and think it's at an unreasonable price.

Such people are very unlikely to buy a system if they see games as priced too high.   To them... there aren't enough games worth paying for to buy the system.

Hence why when piracy is available, they buy the system... and pirate most games.  Yet likely mostly would buy ones they would of bought anyway if they had received the system as a gift or something.

I refuse to believe that psp's problem with piracy is worse than any other handheld or console. I do think the fact that since psp games are rarely ever advertised might be the reason for lackluster software sales. The hardware sells fine despite limited games because the system is advertised well, if only any publishers including Sony would notice that.

Awesome. Wish the game could get more 3rd party software releases.

If I had to guess I would say there are at least 5 more million sellers on the PSP, there's a lot of missing and outdated data....

On-Topic: Wii has more million seller and more 500k seller in less time with almost the same install base.

Consoles have always and will always have an higher attach rate move more software. Terrible comparision.

I don't think the PSP is too well tracked @ Vg ,alot of data for PSP titles in certain regios is missing.
