FFVI is my personal favorite but for the story, the gameplay imo was better in FF4.

I thought FFVIII was gay and FFXII had worse grinding than most Korean MMORPG's.

Yeah, using "gay" as an insult isn't very cool.

And, again: you weren't supposed to be grinding, and even if you wanted to there's an item, of which you can buy as many as you like, which doubles your experience gained per encounter.

Second Disk ruined it for me.  I think the nicest word I could use at this point for it is gay.

Also grinding aside, I didn't FFXII because I felt Vaan and Penelo were extremely out of place.  Ashe and Basche(can't spell today) were more main character matter in my opinion.

Vaan and Penelo were there for their perspective, not for their role in the plot, though Vaan's influence on Ashe is very important over time.

Yes, Ashe is easily the biggest player in that particular drama, with Basch (as her knight) being the primary ass-kicker.

I thought Balthier was the leading man. He kept telling that to everyone. He also had his heroic 'moment' at the end.

FF12 was awesome.

FF8...not so much.

All right I also want to hear why you don't like FFIV DS

IMO FF IV is such a moody and emotional game, and that is one of its bggest assets... but the Chibi-style graphics make it seem like more of a joke.  The cinematics were gorgeous, obviously, but the in-game stuff just didn't vibe with me.  I would have rather seen a remake along the lines of FF I and II for the PSP.  2D sprites = pwnage.

I'm glad that its opening the FF world to many new owners though who may not have had a chance to enjoy the original.  It's not for me though.

That's it? Really? The excellent voice acting, phenomenal script, and perfectly preserved soundtrack did nothing for you?

All because of character models which were closer to realistic proportions than the 2D sprites were?

Honestly, I'm a graphics whore.  I won't skirt around that fact.  All the other presentational features compliment the visuals, but if those are missing, than no matter how great everything else is, if I can't stand to look at it than I can't really enjoy it.  In my eyes, bad 3D drives me crazy (even something like FFVII now takes a hit because of this, but it has a classic appeal that sorta bypasses the visual stumblings).  I've got three copies of IV already though, so I don't exactly need another.
