Forums - Nintendo - It's time for third parties to make Wii their lead platform

The HD console will always get more harcore games then the Wii. No matter how high it sells it just will and we have to live with that fact. We will get them, but there will never be a bunch coming out at once like the HD consoles. We have Call of Duty WAW so lets enjoy it until another hardcore game comes out

Nintendo tried having the best technology once before. The N64 wasn't as successful as the PS1. Deal with it, this is what happens and MS had to bite the bullet last gen too because of this law. So did Nintendo but they had a system only marginally better than the PS2.

In time SD will be acceptable again. And that whole bullshit thing about everyone has 2 systems is not true at all. I don't and im happy to be patient and wait for Nintendo to become the new standard.

Are you serious? Do you actually beleave this?

Do you watch DivX movies?NO

Do you ever watch tv or video on a mobile phone or mp4 player? HELL NO

Do you play old games on pc or on virtual play on PS3/360/wii? Once in a while

Do you play games on handheld? NO

Well don't talk shit if you got a semblance of integrity or self reflective honesty.

Get a clue.  SD is in its death phase.  you are aware that the next Wii will be HD.  Even the Wii with decade old tech knows SD is not ever going to be the standard again.

SD is not going anywhere anytime soon.  Over the next year or 2 HD is going to stall (as a format) as producing content in HD is more expensive.  If a show isn't already in HD, it probably won't go HD until the recession is over in the states and even then things might get delayed a little longer so that companies have the money in the bank to buy the HD equipment.

PM me if you want to know why I know this is the case.

No.

Right now, a game designed for all 3 platforms from my anecdotal stance and some what the information that I view as relative from this site, such as comparitive sales between the 3 systems as well as the user acclaim assigned to a reffered software;

CoD:WaW is a fresh example, another would be Force Unleashed a really far back one would be CoD 3. The more recent ones were clearly designed differently from each other. I will note that Force Unleased was a game designed for the powers of a HD system but was forced into working for the Wii while CoD:WaW was designed with all systems in mind.

Why it didn't sell on the Wii simple, it was better on the 360. ^_^

The games value is now found in it's online functions, and the audience for this shooter seem to preffer online functions, and the Xbox360 has that under wraps as far as consumer perception goes. I'm almost certain, if that game had split screen multiplayer that it would of had insane legs on the Wii platform, not sure about HD platform though.

I'm Unamerica and you can too.

It's my personal preference obviously but I don't like Wii controls, so games on the Wii would be an instant failure. Porting games up to HD consoles would likely have a stigma attached to them making them a failure on HD consoles. If the game fails on the Wii which is more likely than not, its not going to fair much better on an HD console. Would be a risk which doesn't have much chance of success.

All that aside. Wii games are just not appealing. I would much rather play games on the best console out there, and again my opinion that console is the PS3, followed by X360, lastely Wii. Wii exclusive third party games would get zero attention from me and I assume other gamers like me.

Cant people see that the target audience of the 2 sides (wii, HD) is vastly different

Developers now this, so stop saying that they cant figure out the wii , they can they just aren't interested in making games for its demographics

Developers had a rough time until now with low memory low processing power from past consoles stuff that made games like gears of war uncharted mass effect etc virtually impossible to develop years ago , and now you want to take that back from them again? dont be stupid, just because a console is a hit doesn't make it more appealing to a developer they want freedom to create more then anything else and going back to the wii is not an option for the top developers of the industry

If nintendo fans want to play these great games its simple buy one of the HD consoles because they are not possible on the wii

While you do well to point out that it's your preference and opinion, it does lie only within that domain. In the real world, Wii Game does not equal failure. There have been many titles that have sold over 500K copies, surpassing their loss/profit line, thus making a successful product.

Take into consideration that a Will game costs approx 5 mil to make, and 20 mill for a HD game. We're talking about 15 mil more to develop for right there. To date, the PS3+XB360 marketshare, more aptly know as the HD console marketshare was greater than the Wii. Now, with the Wii reaching the 50% mark, a developer has the same chance to make a game for 15 mil less, reach the same size audience, and only pay for ONE console licensing fee. All around, we're talking about a much more stable investment/profit system.

Thus, as the Wii reaches and passes 50% marketshare, a lot of developers will start moving away from expensive HD development,  especially with the entire economy crumbling around them. You will soon see people who were against Wii development start hailing the Wii as a great system.

Maybe you're right, graphics don't suck but I do hate the fact that a lot of games look so blurry on my LCD TV screen comparing to PS3 games. Plus HDD and the fact you can't download your stuff again once your Wii gets broken and having friends codes are my general complaints concerning the Wii. Game line up is getting better and better.

My friend got a new Wii last year and he still have his downloadable titles. :V

I don't doubt it. And I should probably have added that I agree third party developers should be putting out more higher quality games out for the Wii to satiate those gamers. But as r3av3r2k1 said developers make games they want to make, give or take a marketer or two.

I cannot imagine what a fallout 3 on the Wii would look like, probably nothing I would ever want to play.  So Fallout 4 should also be an HD game.  Now if Bethesda wants to develop a new Fallout Wii game or some brand new IP game for the Wii then they should probably just go ahead and make it exclusive rather than later porting it up to the one of the HD consoles because as I said before its likely going to fail on that HD console.

This is not exactly consistent with what I said before, but ill stand by both posts.

You bought a kiddie machine so you get kiddie games. Deal with it or buy a 360 or ps 3
