Forums - Gaming - Famitsu White Knight Chronicle score (29/40)

Erm I'm actually talking about JRPG not WRPG... but fine. Maybe its like SmokedHostage is saying, the game has a too much of a Western appeal that its less interesting to the Japanese.

That is what I thought but you wrote "All RPGs".

My bad.

I was saying the other day to another member here that I thought L5 was spending too much time worrying about the social aspect of this game and that it alone was going to drop this games overall score.

So far I seem to be correct.

The online and social portiono of the game if I am not mistaken was said to be like that of Facebook. If I am not mistaken, isn't stuff like that more popular in the West?

Do they use anything like that in Japan? Do they care for it? I honestly don't know, I don't use Facebook.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

The problem might be how the Hell can this game have no Hype, What's going on Sony?

Well I'm not sure about online gaming, although Japanese love to play games social with friends. It seems that the biggest issue which Famitsu had with the online part, is the missing microphone option. Concerning the Facebook look alike and then I can only speak of what I've experienced with My Space, that ain't that big in Japan comparing to the US My Space for instance. So yes, I guess you're right that stuff is far more popular in the West.

Where have to been Onna I've been singing VC's praises for weeks. My roommate bought the game and I took over his PS3 for two weeks. I actually made a thread about it over at the Kombo.com forums. I was agitated that none of the PS3 owners made a thread about the game and I also pissed that not enough of them had bought the game.

One of my friends on that forum couldn't find the game in Norway so I told I'd buy it here and ship it to him. He actually paid me for it, he didn't have to. Although it was appreciated. I would have never known so much about VC before its release if it wasn't for him in the first place. I thought it really sucked that he couldn't find a copy.

Sega slipped up. They thought it was 1998 instead of 2008 and they released a AAA game for change. Now if they could just do something about Sonic Team.......

Not having Mic support is a bit of a letdown, but not enough to kill the game for me. Hopefully this gets patched.

When I play JRPG's though I play single player and that is it. I still think this game ends up being very good. Giant battles? Who doesn't love that?

They said it is similar to older L5 RPG's, so if it is anywhere near DC2, I am happy.

That's a big disappointment, the PS3 needed a good JRPG this year. It looked really promising...

Final Fantasy XIII is now even more important for the PS3 than it already was.

Naughty Dog: "At Naughty Dog, we're pretty sure we should be able to see leaps between games on the PS3 that are even bigger than they were on the PS2."

PS3 vs 360 sales

Nice, this thread is still going on with complaining of one reviewer that says this game isn't all that important and then a wrath of gamers come in and say they are not picking up the game considering Famitsu said that its not that good or not even on par with a game like FFXII..lol

Who is Famitsu anyway to make you gamers or us in general to decide whether we should buy this game or avoid it for that manner?

They reviewed the game with a 7, 7, 8, and another 7. Then they gave comments stating that the game is only plagued down by online issues. But they never not one time said anything about controls issues, graphics issues (i.e The Last Remnant), story issues or anything. Their scores alone don't make any sense. It's best to wait for actual reviews from the western market then you can pass judgement. Just because a japanese company didn't like the game only score wise doesn't mean its a flop or its a failure and Sony console is doomed. They just didn't match the scores right with the comments they made.

I bet MS moneyhatted Famitsu!!!!

Oh I've been here telling people to buy the game guess we must have missed each other then By the way, what the heck have you done with your PS3?

@Euphoria, Dark Chronicle alike game is total win for me. To me its one of the best PS2 games out there. Personally I don't really care about the online function either and I hope for the sake of the game that Level 5 will release a patch with Mic. option, though if you ask me... they should have done that right from the release.

@Zuhyc, that thought crossed my mind for a second but I didn't find it worth mentioning it
