Forums - Gaming - Famitsu White Knight Chronicle score (29/40)

I think it's funny that many people here think it will be a much better game than TLR or IU.
Yes Famitsu scores are unreliable, but this game was on the list of most anticipated games in Japan, so there was a lot hype.

Now why do you people think it will be better than TLR or IU. They have gotten a good to great score from Famitsu, but they suck in the opinion of Western reviewers.
Why should an even worse scored game reach a higher score in the Western mgzies/internet articls ???

That doesn't make any sense

This post shows how little you know about Level 5 games and their scoring history. Level 5 so far hasn't created any games that turned out to be disappointed. If you even took the effort to look up their gamerankings history you'd found out that all of their console games, with the exception of their debut Dark Cloud with "only" 78%, scored an average of 80%+ in the West, I can't say the same about TLR nor IU.

If online is the major gripe, 95%+ Japanese gamers don't care about online gaming at all. It sounds like single player was decent if it's "like every other Level 5 RPG".

"Naturally the common people don't want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, IT IS THE LEADERS of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is TELL THEM THEY ARE BEING ATTACKED, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. IT WORKS THE SAME IN ANY COUNTRY."  --Hermann Goering, leading Nazi party member, at the Nuremberg War Crime Trials

the game looks terrible in the latest videos anyway.

Fixed. Also Famitsu scores based on full points. Each reviewer mentions how communicating is a problem. That leaves me to believe 4 points (at least) were taken because of online. I would say if Level 5 cut the online it would be just as good as the other level 5 games

I bet that if Famitsu have gave a 40/40 to WKC, no one would be complaining about the credibility of the magazine.

The Gundam game scores that famitsu scream crediblity problems...

Didn't they give HAZE a 34/40?

I'm just saying...

just a thought,

WKC seems to have a Western flavor to it's RPGness, maybe this didn't fly as well with these reviewers.

I would have bought that but they gave Fable II a 35/40.  And so far I love that game.  Freakin Microsoft ever seen back my replacement disk...

I'm just saying...

RPG and this gen...

But at least the the Famitsu survey from before includes WKC on the top list.

I can safely say it will sell there...
