PS3 for LBP, Level 5's wares, and whatever Team Ico pitches out next

My son is getting a 360 for Christmas. Why 360? Price mainly, broader range of games, especially RPGs, better online.

My main reservations about the two systems:
PS3: Hardware cost
360: Hardware quality (getting better), online fees

I know people will say the live fees are no much, and it is totally worth it. I have free online play for my PC, DS and Wii. A PS3/360 will be my 4th gaming option. I will want to occasionally play online. $50/year is not a good value for me.

I will probably wait until next fall and see where the consoles are at that point. I could go either way, but I am leaning PS3, if it gets cheaper.

After I get properly updated with the PS2 I am hopefully getting for christmas I have the 360 right on my target. Mostly because I live in the real world and the PS3 is so damm expensive in too many ways.

But if money wasn't a problem, I would see more advantages in the PS3 as a dependable machine. You see, RRod still concerns me... And what about the 360 scratching the discs?

About the games... Even though the 360 has IMO a little advantage, those great "exclusive" games may end up easyly for PC (Gears, mass effect...). So my desition is not that influenced for the exclusives.

I will eventually buy a 360 in this life, for the real world, when they work all the hardware issues out. The PS3? Maybe in the year 2018, when it cost a 100 bucks and can be hacked.

PS3. It's a more reliable system. MGS4, FFXIII, R2, KZ2

PC. Better value than either the 360 or the PS3.

I would get a 360 why? Since it would be my secondary console price would be an important factor, it has good exclusive games (FABLE II!), and shares most of its library with the PS3.

But probably i wont get any my PC at home is very good, im getting Fallout 3 and Mass Effect for it.

between the two, XB360 for sure. Bigger library, XBLive, not as expensive, and I don't watch movies, so I don't need a Blu Ray player.

In reality, Im building a new gaming rig, which will have the majority of the games I care about
