The Xbox 360 has been place to many great titles such as Gears, Halo 3, Mass Effect etc. Many games have taken advantage of the power of the Xbox 360, with stellar graphics from games such as Gears of war and halo 3 taking full advantage of the Xbox 360.

With the release of Uncharted back in 2007 critics cited that it was the game that seperated the ps3 from the Xbox 360, and with the 2008 release of Metal Gear Solid 4 which took graphics to a whole another level with in game cut scenes that were stunning. However in 2008 with the release of Gears of War 2 many fans and critics have cited that the Gears of war 2 was the game that really took advantage of what the Xbox 360 has to offer, and its shows the game looks stunning.

Looking ahead to 2009, with the ps3 set to release games such as Killzone 2, God of War 3, Heavy Rain, Uncharted 2 and possibly Gran Turismo 5. All set to take a huge leap in terms of presentation.

My question is what game in 2009 is set to take full advantage of the Xbox 360 as Gears of War 2 did in 2008, and has the Xbox 360 reached it peak in terms of graphics?

The people who made Gears 2 say it hasn't, so I guess not.

The PS2 has been around for ever, and the newest games still improved. People couldn't believe how good God of War 2 looked on the system. There is always room for improvement. People figure out new ways of compression, new ways of manipulating processing power, etc.

I hope they'll max out the graphical power of Alan Wake on the 360....

Uncharted doesn't look as good as many Xbox 360 games.  MGS 4 will probably have an improved release for the 360.

I think that's highly unlikely given the space issues related with dvd discs

Alan wake, splinter cell: conviction & RACE pro are three games for me that will show that the 360 is still a graphical beast and i'm sure there will be plenty more too in 2009 (i also think that Forza motorsport 3 will look stunning once its officially announced)

People always find a way to get more graphical juice out of a console........ i lost count regarding the amount of times people said ps2 had reached its limits, but then it kept coming back and suprising us all.

I reckon theres still plenly left in the 360's tank.

In B4 Twes, Ronster, bad, SHM, Dales, & Infamous...Oh wait... o_o

I'm still waiting for "that" Rare powerhouse on the 360!

They know how to exploit everything a system can offer. You guys remember Star Fox Adventures, Donkey Kong Country, Conker's Bad Fur Day and many more? ^^

Hmm good question, can't really say, what the next big thing on the 360 will be grapichs wise - RE5 and Final Fanaty Xlll seems like good guesses, -though they are multiplatform, but that shouldn't stop them from pushing the boundaries of the 360's hardware..

Oh and on another note, a console has never reached it's it peak in terms of grapchis until it is replaced by a new one from the next generation - this is quite evident if you look at some of the last entries in a consoles lifetime from everything to the NES, SNES, Genesis, Playstation, N64, PS2, Gamecube and Xbox, compared to what you saw in the first years of each respective consoles lifetime..
