Forums - Website Topics - What's your style for reading threads.

When clicking on topic are you one that reads the first post then replies?  Or are you the kind of person who reads through every post then replies?

I myself  read the first post and then skim through it.  I prefer to  find posts made by certain vgchartz members that I enjoy reading their responses too.

first page to know what the whole deal is about and then last page to know how the discussion is going

I pick and choose really, some of the shorter posts. I'll definately read everything, on the meatier posts? I'll read a few pages, and decide if I should reply or not. For every reply I make, I read at least 10 topics.

Why must JRPG female leads suck so bad?

I generally read everything.

Then there's the NPD threads/VGChartz weekly sales threads, where 4 people can go on and have a long discussion, with nobody saying anything of interest. I usually skip those, as I recognize what members are in it, and know that talking to them is a waste of my time.

Then I oftenly enter threads by someone's profile (recent posts), and if they aren't really interesting, I only read Rol's/Noname's/TWRoO's/some other people's posts.

So 3/4 of the time I read it all.

1/8 of the time I skip the people who have quote wars

1/8 of the time I just read Rol's/Noname's/TWRoO's/some other's posts.

If I think it's a thread that I will be posting in, I read almost everything unless a post is rambling on and not really saying much. If I'm starting to find a thread boring or not going anywhere and I won't be posting in it, I quit and look at other threads that will interest me.

I'll come up with something better eventually...

good method

i'll generaly read eveything unless a thread has alot of pages in which case i'll skip to the end . I look out for certain users posts and try to avoid others as best as I can.

If there are a butt load of pages, I read the first post and reply. If not, then I actually see what people have to say and then post a reply.
