Tidus and Yuna from FFX. Always makes me cry.

Max Payne and Mona sax in Max Payne 2

Not a "love story" per se, but the couch moment in The Darkness is one of my favorite gaming moments of all time.

So simple, so powerful, and it drives the player into a frenzy during a later part of the game.

Simplicity at its finest. One of the truest moments in gaming and nothing really happened. Other developers could learn a lot from that small moment of "gameplay".

Don't forget Ico! The ending was beautiful.

Beautiful.... but also easily interpreted in many ways, and I'm not sure if it was romantic.

Speaking seriously I will give the "best romance" nod to these:

Locke and Celes
Wander and Mono (sort of)
Oswald and Gwendolyn
Flint and Hinawa

Love doesn't have to be romantic...

Maybe for you. I was too busy gambling to notice anything else in that game.

Though quite often relationships formed in such situations do become romantic.

I suddenly have the itching to replay Ico...
