Yes, there is a point to. It's preparing for the future. The popularity of this website grows every week and it's already hitting the point where 750+ users starts to slow the site down. It's actually doing a bit better right now with 850 users, but the fact remains once it gets into these numbers, it starts to slow down more and more.

Digg doesn't take down every site it links, but it does to this one. Growing popularity + Digg Effect = Upgrade required.

1040 people on at 9:30am EST.... id say your getting pretty close to 1000 users all day long.

The site is slow.... at 9:30am it shouldn't take me 30 seconds to pull up the homepage... In comparison it takes about 4 seconds to pull up 1up.com ... I don't even bother opening up the forums anymore cause its so slow. I just check the homepage. If there is a forum discussion there I am interested in i may click but I don't bother browsing this site anymore... just takes to long and there are plenty of other gaming forums on the internet.
