Resistance 2 didn't do that horribly, compared to Resistance 1, which according to VGC, had a first four weeks of like 230k or something. It's nothing to write home about, but not horrible.
Sony's spin is sad, lolxD; But who wants to bet that 360 will make no mention of Wii in theirs?

SONY's response wasn't great....but what can we expect as the situation isn't great.
More insanity.... One out of every in 150 people in America bought a Wii in November.
It's amazing the split in gaming audiences based on software sales. Wii seems to be overwhelming being bought by casual gamers now judging by sales of software like WiiFit. The 360 and PS3 seem to be dominated by gamers at the opposite end of the gaming spectrum.
Where is the press releases for Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft? Usually there's a news report with them by now (or at least I believe so). I want to see how they respond to this craziness.

Why would a company mention the competition selling better? It doesn't make sense from any perspective.

And the fact that Ps3 wasn't even released in Europe for the first 3-4 monts of 2007 doesn't help either.
