By the way some Sony fans went into total meltdown in this thread you would have thought the Wii was the gaming equivalent of the Borg. Resistance is futile. You will be assimilated. Your gaming and technology preference will be converted to our own. Rotate the price modulation we have to get past their defenses. Helpless playstation players jacked into Wiis in the corridors. Veins popping out all over as they are forced to get exercise.

Seriously if your getting intimidated by a piece of technology that has no moral implications. Your in serious need of some self evaluation. You should not be having some kind of life crisis about hardware. Perhaps you need to step away from gaming for a while or permanently. No offense but some people are compulsive, and should not engage in certain activities. Are you that scared about making a wrong call. Well fix it sell your old console and buy a new different one that looks like it is going to win. Go get some serious relaxation into your schedule. Nobody should have a massive amount of pent up rage they plan to take out on strangers.

You should not be this angry on a site dedicated to gaming which is obviously not relaxing you, and one that involves making predictions based on facts. That will often not match your own personal desires. Nobody made you spill this venom, and this machine should not be your god. It is a damned tool, and you really need to self evaluate. This is not rational human behavior, this is unhealthy, and unproductive behavior.

This is a fun game site about predicting trends. Now if your not having fun, or you are having meltdowns here. You really need to think hard about why you are here. Screw the damn console think about your own well being.

This threads premise is no different than that of the "which system will reach X number of sales first" threads. I don't see why here are so many posters getting bent out of shape over this. This is the Sales Discussion part of the forum is it not?

The hilarious point is that he's making fun of the wii in that post because he doesn't like it.   The thread is fine, though would of been better without the "Not trying to start a flame war" thing.  Was the "Which will happen first, PS3 to 4 million or Wii to 10 Million" thread starting a flamewar? 

I don't think the Wii will though.  I know it's possible but at the same time i gotta think PS3 sales will pick up... somehow.  I don't know how, and I'm not saying it's going to beat the Wii. But i gotta think it'll have to do better then gamecube numbers.  Since they're taking huge losses anyway i could see them make an emergency pricecut around the holiday and drop any remaining 60GB units by another 100 and the 80 Gb to the current 60gb price.

It was not a meltdown. Just that these "type" of topics get old quickly. It doesn't bring anything major or important to the table. Who cares if for a brief time whether one console outsold it in one cherry picked market compared to the other. Would you care if I said that the PS3 is outselling the Wii in a Gamestop in Scranton, NJ and will soon sell more PS3's then Wii's in all gamestops in Scranton.  That to me just doesn't matter and is no big deal.  I look at the big picture for all of them.  It's worldwide or I just don't care.

 This was just posted to inflate ego's of those who own a Wii.  And tell me, how many PS3 fanboys have a 360?  And split time quite well between the two?  Not many if you ask me.  I just get sick of the "rah rah go Wiiiiiii" crap that goes on all too often here.

The thing is Darc, these threads get old quickly.  It's just the same thing, rehashed over and over?  Should we have a thread that compares PS3 sales at one Circuit City and compare them to Wii sales as all Circuit City's in one town?  Where do you draw the line?  It just gets tiresome.  That's all.

Strange I did not recall singling out any specific poster. Had I singled out a particular poster I would have singled out lafiel. Who definitely had a meltdown. I doubt those with a Sony bias would not have brought up the same point had the situation been reversed.

However that does not mean it is a very valid statistic if it comes to pass. America is the strongest market for Sony in the console wars. Were the Nintendo presence in the American market to exceed the entire Sony world wide sales that would be a solid indicator. How could that not be a very important piece of evidence. We are talking about dominating the world through the strength of one market. That means Nintendo can win even when handicapped. That speaks to potential sales.

Further more it is becoming more likely that the war will be waged and won in the American market. Microsoft is strong in that particular market. Sony is at its strongest in that market, and yet Nintendo being able to not only dominate Sony in that market, but dominate Sony with that market alone for any length of time would be a fantastic feet. The media will take note, and so will developers. That would be a stigma for Sony and a major victory for Nintendo. This statistic will be used by the industry.

The big three are fighting their hardest in this one specific market. Nintendo insured they had a game packed in with the console. Sony has already run a sale on their console. Microsoft has just produced a price cut. Microsofts lineup is geared towards American consumers. So if Nintendo can dominate for any length of time purely on this market developers will take notice. Especially American developers.

This might be pouring it on. However the statistic is not out of line with reality it is not being spun into a favorable light. The favorable light is right there in your face. This is just more evidence to add to the growing pile.

I still don't see how people are so confident the Wii will just drop out of the sky altogether, it's selling faster than the PS2 did, and everyone knows how it performed. Wishful thinking won't change how people are going about buying their systems.

Can't you see that people in this forum love to analyse all numbers and have fun making predictions? It is over all threads and has much to do with the nature of this site. This thread is no different.

Do I think this question is a very important subject? No. Do I think this question is less interesting than the other questions asked around? No, it is the same thing. If you don't want to look at reality, too bad for you. Don't come trolling on this thread saying how all other prediction threads are ok but this one is forbidden, a taboo.

If you don't want to look at it, skip this thread. It is easy as that. If you think this thread is so irritating that it touched your e-anus in ways you have not been touched before, look at Dodece's post on this page.

I think this is what Sony fans think about how Wii will lose.

When the PS3 drops down to 399 dollars everyone will suddenly lose interest in the Wii and buy 30 million PS3's so the Wii will lose. Apparently people want one but it is too expensive. They want one because it will have more good games than the Wii, 20 good games. While the Wii will have an overload of quality games and many AAA games. They post random facts with no concrete data.
