don't forget that it's still one of the bigest company in the world... like the USA they might have debt like crazy but it's still nothing compare to their overall value.... they still make a net income of almost 17X what sony does |
Yea sure...according to wikipedia sony is worth more than 68billion since 2006 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sony Microsoft is worth 51 billion since 2007 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Microsoft I cant find the 07 sony numbers but I dont think its 17billion lower. Microsoft is a SOFTWARE company, they are not hardware, they should get out of the console race, since they dont know what they are doing when building a console. |
Leo, Please leave the Microsoft forum. Please. You have no clue what you are talking about. The poster stated NET INCOME which you so eloquently highlighted. You then quote net worth -- from a year old post at that. How much more clueless could you be? If you want to know what a company is "worth" from a stockholder's perspective, it is easy to look at "market cap" or the total number of shares of stock times the stock price. You can find up to date (as in daily) information almost anywhere -- Yahoo finance being quite easy.
8/6/07 Sony Market Cap = $50B
8/6/07 Microsoft Market Cap = $273.3B
Neither have anything to do with NET INCOME, however. Note that multibillion dollar enterprises collapse. It can and does happen. Shareholders don't care so much about the market cap as they do about how much money a company is making. Again, I repeat: Please leave the Microsoft forum and please learn to comment when you actually have something intelligent to say.
NOW, BACK ON TOPIC:
I agree that the "instant exchange" is probably the quickest and best thing MS can do to help restore faith in the console. At least people will know they are going to be back up and gaming in just a few days regardless.
