TF2 looks very good and it uses the same engine as Half-Life 2 Episode 2 right? It must be just the videos of Episode 2 that gave me the wrong impression and made Episode 2 look dated to me.

I was going by the HL2 Ep2 footage. I'll have to go take a look at TF2.

Do you think Ep 2 looks dated? I have to disagree with you on this one, but I think it looks very good. Ok, they aren't the best or most advanced graphics around, but I like the style they have used...

Most current game use some effects and techniques a little too much, to the point it doesn't looks realistic anymore. For me, Ep 2 has just the right amount of graphics

Yes, it uses the Source engine.

TF 2 looks great because it's highly stylized. I wouldn't go so far as to say it's the best looking game ever though :)

Thanks to Blacksaber for the sig!

HL2: Ep 2's animations and certain textures may not be the best...but they are definitely up in the ranks.

Certain particle effects like the Strider's beam, and object animations, like the Strider's beam hitting the house, and the helicopter shooting the wood planks is still pretty sweet.

Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )
