I wish it would go the way of the DS with a variety of games(good to bad) being released all the time.

do you remember the DS's library after 2 years?

it was MK, Nintendogs, Mario64, and um Animal Crossing. brain training had yet to really catch on. The Wii is far ahead of the DS at the 2 year mark. Now, The DS really exploded after year 2... The Wii has been exploding all alone.

I have to disagree and I do remember the early years of DS. I use my Wii about as much as my 360 but the list of games to play are running thin. I mean the quality releases seem sooo far apart and the 3rd party games for the most part suck. Off the top of my head the 3rd party games that are the ones to get this year are Boom Blox, NMH and De Blob. I honestly cant think of anything else besides maybe Mushroom Men. Im a big Nintendo guy but Im just not seeing the titles. I hoe you are right though. I like the Wii and would like to get the enjoyment out of it that I do from my DS.

Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

They are probably getting fed up with their high def consoles losing to a "last gen" system

It's because the high def consoles are using "last gen" dinosaur controllers ;)

with that logic, the PC is basically first gen freakin keyboard + mouse technology

I agree, actually. It took about a decade for PC gaming to really tap the power of the keyboard and mouse, and it's pretty much been cruising for the last decade. The last big innovation in PC game interface that I can think of was integrating mouselook into an FPS.

Dual analogs aren't quite that tired, yet. Every now and then a game like Katamari Damacy, Skate or (dare I say it) Too Human comes a long and shows us a new way to use the wiggly bits. It's definitely getting close to being tapped, though.

I think I'm going to refer to games reliant on dual analogs as "wiggle" games from now on...

I thought analogue referred to be distance sensative.

like the 1st gen joystick were only 1 speed so to say. What the N64 did was made it sensative, like if you push it half way down you would go half as fast. The pre n64 stuff was or nothing (at least that is how I remember it)

I understand what you're saying, but there have been joysticks like that for decades.  Anolog is proportional.  Move it a little, and the object (video game character, remote control car or plane, etc.) moves slowly, and increases proportionaly with the distance you move the control.  The N64 was not the first to do this.  The Atari 5200 definitely did this.  The SNES did not (don't know about the origional NES), though it very well could have.  I did not like directional pads when they came out, and obviously they didn't last long.

Oh my! How the heck did the semantics get in the way of something so simple.

Joystick is a noun which represents a 4 or 8 optional position stick that sits in neutral of its surrounding positions - as I said it's large enough to require your entire hand to function the way it was intended. (LOL with the guy saying that Joy sticks are DPads)

Analog uses your thumb through the same means, but uses only your thumb.

It honestly depends, I find Joysticks much more apt for fighting games.
