Forums - Gaming - IGN to change a review due to complaints

Question is, if the review was same but never had a score on it, would people have got their knickers in a twist? I think not. The majority of people look at the score rather than read the review text anyway and end up quoting the score and knowing nothing about the game itself when they talk about it.

There should be no score system at all - it is juvenile

They compared it with FIFA, that is just wrong, read their apology

yes but it's only the score that led to the furore.

@ stan: hahahahaha. It's okay. You're an American, we forgive you ;)

Hahahahaha, nice try buddy, I'm Mexican born and raised, and former "futbol" fanatic. I just happened to have opened my learned the American quite well and if there's one thing I admire them is for their sports, and American Football hands down has opened my eyes and showed me how much soccer sucks. But hey, have fun watching the World Cup next year, who's going to win it? My take one of the same 4 teams that have been winning it for like the past half century, either Brazil, Italy, Germany, or Argentina.

But hey, don't feel bad because your country can't compete in other sports, I guess you have soccer lol

What are you looking at, nerd?

Just more prove that the review systems are broken and becoming useless everyday. I still think that their Wii music reviews was way much worst. But I doubt they would even apologize for it.

"There should be no score system at all - it is juvenile" - Indeed

End of 2009 ltd sales:

Wii = 67-68m

X360 = 38-39m

PS3 = 34-35m

Prediction: The PS3 will surpass the 360 on weekly sales after it drops to $299 on all regular weeks (no big releases).

IGN have become an unprofessional joke. I used to visit them all the time, and they were my #1 source for "trusted" scores - now I don't even bother to visit their site. Ego's took over a long time ago...

Wow, what a bunch of pussies. I love it how soccer fans have to cry about that review to get it a better one. Way to prove us that your sport sucks so much that you need to cry like a baby. First thing that comes to mind is a soccer player holding his leg on the ground crying for barely getting touch in a play, y'all soccer fanatics are true to your sport, lolz

Have you IGN mockers even seen this game? It is amazing it even got a 2.0. The game looks like something from a group of 5 first year programming students made it in the last three months of school. I have spent hours in franchise mode on many a sports games, and the non dedicated frachise from most of them blow this piece of crap out of the water.

Today is a digusting day in the game media industry. One of th most respectable sites has given in to BS ranting. The dignety of the industry lays in ruin.

I'm sure neither of you took the time to actually understand what is going on here.

This is not a game where you actually get to play the sport.  You manage the team.  But IGN compared it to FIFA and PES anyway.  That is wrong.  That is like comparing the NFL Head Coach games to Madden and NCAA Football, and then giving it a 2/10 because you don't actually get to play football.

IGN UK gave this game a 9.1.  IGN gave it a 2.  Something is wrong there.  IGN screwed up.
