Correct me if I'm wrong but......

Square said themselves that XIII hasn't even been ported to the PS3 yet, so it'd be entirely feasable that they decide to port both at the same time and save $$$ due to localizing at the same time.

Based on Japanese 360 sales opposed to PS3, SquareEnix is basically asking for (at most) only 33% of the sales they would have gotten if the game were multiplatform.

There's no point in arguing that the 360 is more capable of selling software than the PS3 ,a game like XIII with mass apeal will never sell as much on the 360 as it will on the PS3 ; the sales figures speak for themselves.

Would it be worth it??? Would it sell enough???

I think it has to do with the 360 version being made during the localization process. The PS3 version will have released well before in Japan so there would be no point in releasing the 360 version, especially when it will keep Sony happy as well. Killing two birds with one stone right there.

Who's arguing that the 360 is more capable of selling software than the PS3 in Japan?

I'm pretty sure that this has to do with:

a) SE need this game to come out in FY2010 (so before April 2010) in order to present good figures to the shareholders. I don't think they'll make that if they have to port the 360 version.

b) Probably Sony made some effort to have it Japan exclusive.

Games are all made on PC, honestly people make it seen as though they think games are made in dish washers. The game is being made on PC with PS3 specs in mind, just to repeact myself all games are made on PC. :O I know shocker

I'm assuming your referring to Japan since that's the only place where FF is exclsuvie. You said SE is only going to get 33% of the sales they would have gotten had FF been multiplatform , that would mean the 360 would outsell the PS3 at a ratio of 2:1 , impossible.

Unless i miss understood something.

You need to go back and actually read my post, instead of skim. You'll get confused if you only read the conclusion without reading all the statements made before it. You're basically making my argument by posting sales stats.

I believe that the only reason for this is because 360 version's development will only start after PS3's version is launched in Japan. That means SE would have to delay the japanese PS3 version in order to make 360 version for Japan too. Or they could launch the japanese 360 version 6 months later (when it's complete), but that would be pointless.

They want FF13 monies and they want them ASAP. SE kind of decided to split its fanbase amongst all systems (DQ going DS, SO4 going 360, FF13 and V going PS3, etc).
