Forums - Microsoft - Ninety Nine Nights Rondo

It seems Ninety Nine Nights is getting a sequel. According to the Phantagram it is being released in Japan in November. While I actually enjoyed N3, it was deeply flawed and I could see why it was either loved or hated by gamers and reviewers a like. I actually posted a similar topic on another forum and one of the posters their remarked that either this will be a rushed sequel or a completed version of the original game. I am inclined to agree with him. I'd rather see the original game as it was truly envisioned than a rushed game in the vein of the original N3.

I wasn't really a fan of Ninety Nine Nights. It's been a while since I played it, but from what I remember it was just running into a huge wave of enemies, spamming buttons, repeat. It was fun for the first battle but just got so old and so repetitive so quickly.

Cool, hopefully its multiplayer and is less of a mindless button masher.

PS360 ftw!

Currently playing..........

Gears of War 2, GTA IV Lost and Damned, Little Big Planet (Yes I said I had no interest but my girl wanted to try it and we did and now Im hooked )

I'm kinda pumped about that, i liked the first one alot even though i only got to play it a friends house.

Hi, this is Vince with Shamwow.

N3 was a good game but it could have been much better. Yes it was mindless button masher, but that's what it was supposed to be. To me it felt like a true next gen Dynasty Warriors.

Love the product, not the company. They love your money, not you.

yeah I got that one on EBay for 15 with shipping and handling.... so at that price I really liked.... but a bit to repetitive I still haven't finished yet.....I got tired to have to fight the same battles again with the different characters... but I really like the concept, that kind of game is missing on next gen... it could have been better though... wait and see for the new one

Sigh.

Playing N3 by itself makes for a "eh, it's okay for a rental" type game.

Playing N3 AFTER playing Kingdom Under Fire: Heroes or Crusader makes you think "WTF was Phantagram thinking!??!?".

I would HOPE that N3 Rondo might be the game that Phantagram promised to offset Circle of Doom going ARPG. If that was the case, I'd be very very hyped. If not, it might be worth a rental. But again, if you've ever played Kingdom Under Fire, you'd understand how horrible N3 was. KUF to N3 is like comparing the Grand Theft Auto to GUN.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

It was obvious that N3 was rushed Mrstickball. My guess is that MS wanted to get a Japanese style game out ASAP. I am willing to give Phantagram the benefit of the doubt given their pedigree and I think N3R will be the game N3 should have been.
