Forums - Gaming Discussion - MGS4 not on 360 ..... HMV admits mistake

The only argument I can think of to this is that Resident Evil 4(right??) and Viewtiful Joe were both supposed to be exclusives to Gamecube. They were... to a point... (I beleive Timed Exclusives is the proper term) and then they were released on other systems. That's how I see this going.

Boycotting the following:

1. Yoshi: He ate my car and spit out a toaster.

2. Igglybuff: Totally false advertisement. You can have as many as you like they don't buff nothing.

3. the Terms Hardcore/Softcore... We're talking Video Games. Not Porn.

4. The term Casual as relates to Gamers: We make them sound like outsider's that happen to play games.  If that were the case they'd own a PS3.

5. Donuts.... Beacause I drink Beer...... and the biggest fan of Donuts hates Beer.

6. Boycotts: Their so lame.

MGS3:Subsitence was ported?!

To what and when?

I think you might need to tell Konami that.

As you can see, every Solid game has been released on Sony consoles, Save a Gamboy port and Twin Snakes on the GC.

Uh...Xbox got Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance ...

LEFT4DEAD411.COM
Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

It's true that you never KNOW until the publisher or console owner says it. That said, large numbers of timed exclusives are compromised in advance by retailers screwing up. Honestly, i reckon thats what this is. The dates will change but someone at HMV knows MGS4 is coming to 360. Just like Eternal Sonata and Ace Combat will go to the PS3

The Eternal Sonata rumor came from the ESRB.  Although it still might not be true (although I hope it is), they are a much more reliable source than HMV.  I don't think HMV definitively proved anything.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

My bad. I meant MGS 2.

MGS1 appeared on PC too, just FYI :P

Here's my prediction: MGS 4 stays PS3 exclusive, but MGO goes multiplatform.

It suits the 360 userbase a lot more anyway.

Thanks to Blacksaber for the sig!

Ah, My mistake.

I Wonder why Konami don't list the xbox port.

I still stand by my prediction, which is that sales of the game will decide on exclusivity. Even with the exclusivity agreement, doing a special edition on the 360 would be done to recoup costs in the event that sales are not sufficient on the PS3.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
