On several gaming forums  it´s not unusual for a lot of people to focus so much on sales numbers.

There are always posts like "LOL at X system", "Y system is DOOMED!!!!111!!", "Z system is a FLOP LOL", etc...

Now...ever since you, dear VgChartz poster, started coming here (a gaming site which focuses on sales, after all), has it affected your view on games, affected the pure enjoyment you get while playing the games you like?

Visiting several gaming forums, I can´t help but feel a ton of gamers easily allow themselves to get so attached to sales numbers, it would seem they get more enjoyment out of raw sales than just playing games.

Now, I find videogame sales numbers intersting and fun (which is why I post here, after all), but never to the point of "letting" them actually interfere with the fun I get while I´m gaming.

When I´m playing a game, I´m just playing it, I don´t keep thinking "man, I wish my system(s) of choice wasn´t being outsold by that other console" , etc...

Gaming in its purest form, is what I mean.

only way it has ever affected me is making me disappointed in the Gaming community in general for letting great games flop. That's it.

sales numbers r for gloating only............u dont get sales in ur hnd as u only buy 1 console and 1 of each game............what does go in ur hand r games...............and ps3 has provided them for me

No. I play what I want, other people can play what they want.

No it hasnt becuase i could care less bout reviews. if i like a game i dont need a review to tell me it sucks. And as for sales figures that dont bother me one bit because i bought the game and thats what matters to me

Sales don't affect gameplay, so there's no reason for me to care. That being said, I like it when a game succeeds, because the company that made it can make other games or perhaps a much-needed sequel. But sales have no impact on how much I enjoy a game.
