I don't care how they do it!I trust that they can execute it well.My ideas:

1.They completely suprise us with a new teamwork concept we've never seen before.

2.One character tags along like Elika in the new prince of persia and assists you in various ways when you hit the "partner button".You can tag to swap the leading character and support character at any time so both are playable.

3.Paper mario with each character having abilities that fit different 2d and 3d situations and you can tag at any time.

Your comments?I really think games should start doing merges similar to what we see in the music industry.You know,X featuring Y and Z?Can anyone think of some other good game combos?

Hmm, a 2D version of Mario/Sonic in the old style would kind of make the Mario character inferior if you ask me. Sonic was always the high speed, kick-butt, roll over your enemy character. Mario was the slow fat plumber who took his time and jumped on his enemies heads.

We know that the next Mario Galaxy will basically be SMG, but with more levels, new crazy power-ups that they couldnt fit into the first game (Miyamoto said so himself) and I hope there'll be an extension of the red star to use in levels.

I also would LOVE a new 2D mario, either Wiiware or DS release (or DS2 launch title), which is built entirely around the 2D sections from Galaxy. Like, Super Mario Solar System, but with a much better name. It could even feature Luigi instead, ie, Luigi Galaxy.

A Mario and Sonic platformer would be pretty sweet but I'd rather not a paper mario game. Just never got into them.

But I'd still rather jsut another Mario platformer. Doesn't get any better than those.

If we get a Mario/Sonic platformer Nintendo better be the one's to develop it. It could be a great game if done right.

Hm, I don't think that would ever happen. Nintendo would never risk such a thing, specially with Mario. Iwata said some time ago that they're very careful when developing a Mario game.
