Well it's 8 chapters so your about another 10-15 hrs away from finishing.  And longer if you haven't taken much time to level up your monsters and Emil/Marta.

Huh this game is out already?!?
One sec,

Ok, it's ok - I like the intro, could do with a little more steam punk though XD, No time to really play it though, playing Castlevania... now.

It's a pretty good JRPG. It's got it's problems but they're isn't anything deal-breaking.

Next JRPG to play: Fragile

"Pier was a chef, a gifted and respected chef who made millions selling his dishes to the residents of New York City and Boston, he even had a famous jingle playing in those cities that everyone knew by heart. He also had a restaurant in Los Angeles, but not expecting LA to have such a massive population he only used his name on that restaurant and left it to his least capable and cheapest chefs. While his New York restaurant sold kobe beef for $100 and his Boston restaurant sold lobster for $50, his LA restaurant sold cheap hotdogs for $30. Initially these hot dogs sold fairly well because residents of los angeles were starving for good food and hoped that the famous name would denote a high quality, but most were disappointed with what they ate. Seeing the success of his cheap hot dogs in LA, Pier thought "why bother giving Los Angeles quality meats when I can oversell them on cheap hotdogs forever, and since I don't care about the product anyways, why bother advertising them? So Pier continued to only sell cheap hotdogs in LA and was surprised to see that they no longer sold. Pier's conclusion? Residents of Los Angeles don't like food."

I'm ~28 hrs in, chapter 8. It's my first Tales game, and I rather like it. I like the fighting system, but don't like that I can't use all the characters. There's a couple in mind that I'd like being, besides Emil and Marta.

One real big thing that I hate is the amount of cutscenes, and some useless things that are said, which prolong the cutscenes. However, I don't mind the skits for some reason, even though there a lot more of those (probably because they are so humorous).

while you can't use others by default, you can switch to them in battle. Just hit the menu button and then hit C and you can switch.

You should try out Sheena's special move. So far I've tried Emil, Marta, and Sheena, and the best is probably Marta or Sheena unless you are facing a boss.

@main topic

I'm about 25hr in and I don't have a clue which chapter since I've been doing side quests for like the last 3 hours and forgot where I was in the game.

Emil is by far the worst lead character I've ever seen in a game, but other than that I'm enjoying it.

Yeah, I think that was a problem for me. The game has lots of technical flaws, but I can suck it up as long as the story keeps me interested.

This is about where I stopped (at end of vid): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0e8XXCbiWDs

By the way, so far the game seems ridiculously easy with 2 people. The bosses we've come across so far can pretty much be stun-locked to death, just by coordinating normal attacks.

Ah well you haven't gotten far at all haha.  But I like Emil, but of course I guess I can say that easier after beating the game.

And trust me it'll get harder... a hell of a lot harder.  It definitely has progressive difficulty.

I still want to play this game. I'll get it for xmas or after I finish Chrono Trigger and the first ToS.

Ok, my question is, is this games presentation better than Eternal Sonata, and is it's pull and traction better than Eternal Sonata, of all the JRPGS I've bought this system cycle Eternal Sonata is the bottom of the barrel, so if it's better I'll look into this.

I would put the game on par with Eternal Sonata, if you made it through that then you can make it through this.

edit: my apologies, I forgot to comment on presentation.  I would call the visuals and music in ToS2 worse than Eternal Sonata, but the voice overs are better.

...

I like the game very much, but I probably wouldn't have if I had actually played the original beforehand.
