I need a face palm smiley.... In Japan all bathroom scales have to be certified. When they had it certified, it was rated for 250lb. However, they decided later on that it should really be rated for 330lb. Since they didn't want to have to recertify the balance board, it remained at 250lb for Japan even though the hardware is identical. They probably figured the only japanese people over 250lb were sumo wrestlers, and they sure weren't going to use the thing.
I think people forget that wii fit is sold out through north america while there is a massive glut of unsold PS3s lying around.
Did wii fit really just sell half a million units in one week after being around for 60 weeks?

You never know. It might pass the PS3 for a period of time. I don't think it will always stay ahead, but for a period of time I could see it edging in front of it.

This is what I see happenning also. It will pass the PS3 some time this year. But when the PS3 gets a price cut in 2010, the PS3 will retake the lead and keep it this time.

It sounds very plausible to me. Especially since it outsold the Wii this week. That in itself is jaw dropping to me. Good job on the thread. You have really done your homework and I will definitely check on it later.

Next week WiiFit will pass "Pokemon Ruby / Sapphire" (GBA)
There are only two non Nintendo titles on the list above it, "The Sims" (PC) and "GTA: San Andreas" (PS2).
What WiiFit has passed since the start of this thread: GTA3 (PS2), Super Mario 64 (N64), MarioKart DS (DS), More Brain Training (DS), GTA: Vice City (PS2), Pokemon Yellow (GB), Gran Turismo 3 A-Spec (PS2)
