Forums - Gaming Discussion - MGS4 ON XBOX 360....HMV CONFIRMS

Again, XBox owners only want it so they can kill the PS3, I have all 3 so I could care less, except I think its a horrible shame that people can whine their way to stealing an exclusive just to kill a console they hate.

Hmmm....

HMV says AlanWake on PS3.... BS.

HMV says Haze on 360 in '07...BS.

HMV says MGS4 on 360...BS.

...

Anyone see a pattern here?? I personally tend to believe publishers/developers more than a online arm of a company that doesn't specialise in games ;)

...

In other news, my local EB says that GTA4 is still "coming soon", and are accepting pre-orders for it now. Guess that means its coming out this year.... right?

Yeah... I'm sure that whining will be the deciding factor on the final decision from Konami.

Not conclusive evidence. But it is another evidence.

Hideo Kojima doesn't decide whether the game is exclusive or not.

Konami does.

This is great news for the 360, though I think we all saw this comming. I'll be reserving my 360 copy the second they start taking pre-orders.

Gballzack has a point here. Since when have software developers decided wether or not his/her game gets ported? I can recall the developer of Resident Evil 4 saying he'd cut his head off if the game went multi-plat, only to apologise later for the suits higher up in the company overruling him. He also failed to kill himself, despite all expectations. =P

Even if the game stays exclusive, it's extremely like that poor sales could lead to Capcom having another team port it without listening to Kojima. The reason these rumours persist is that highly expected third party exclusives on poorly selling consoles is something that simply doesn't happen.

Yeah again I agree...developers never have a say whether a game should be developed on a console its up to the publisher which in this case Konami....Kojima cant say nothing he has to do what the publisher says or he's fired or something other than that...so if the developer thinks they won't make profit on one console they make it multiplatform as Capcom is doing...

So they will take out the ps3 controller from the game and have to remake the controls costing more money and compress the entire game in order for it to fit on a 9gb disc, and then try to take out some unessesary textures to take up less space, and oh yes ofcourse this wont cost them anything at all, and the 360 will sell about 1 million copies MAX vs the 3 million ps3 sold, and konami will be mad for puting it on the 360, and the ps3 as we know it, is dead. Just becuase konami wanted to put it on the 360 and they lost even more money on it and never made a profit.

Just because there was ps3 controller in the game dosen't mean it won't go multiplatform. Tales of Symphonia had a gamecube in it when it was released in the gamecube, when they released on the ps2 they just changed it. Its not a big thing.

The controls can be changed easily and the 360 and ps3 have the same number of button if I am correct, so the only thing they need to change is the motion control. Is there even motion control in the game? cause I don't know. If there isn't no biggie, and if there is, I don't it will be that much of a hassle.

Also porting a game from a Ps3 to a 360 is alot easier than having to port a 360 to a ps3. Thats what I hear anyway. I also hear that DVD9 is cheaper than blu-ray, so if you factor those in I don't think it will cost much to port this game to the 360 and even with only a million copies sold (which is still alot) i'm sure the port will make a profit.

btw I'm not really intrested in the game. I'm just trying to show no exclusive is guaranteed, especially when this series of game has been ported to many other systems.

I remember the days when it was just Nintendo and Sega. Then Sony came in and killed Sega (yes I know sega also shot themselves in the foot). Genesis Vs Super Nintendo, best console war ever.

Your listening to people saying its easier to port. Here is the thing, There has not been even one game that has been ported from ps3 to 360 its all been 360 ports, if it were easier dont you think they would have done that genius? No exclusive isnt garunteed since if it sells very well on the ps3 why would they want to port it? If it sells bad it is garunteed.

First of all about the 360 being easier to port to, I said thats what I hear. I didn't claim it to be fact. Its just one possibility. Second of all, the reason why ps3 is never the lead platform for many multiplatform relases is because it has the smallest user base. The game companies usually make the 360 game first then port it because it has the largest fucking userbase genius. Developer usually want the best possible game for the console with the largest userbase because that is where most of the money will come from. Also Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3 sold fucking insane amounts on the ps2 and it still went to the xbox, didn't it?

i'm getting a head ache...

to the last guy, about 360 userbase, don't attack people like that... are you a child?

well I guess it's the 10 years difference... me I remember when it was sega and nintendo and that was awesome..... and Dreamcast one of the best concole ever.... not enough  games but damn the couple they had were awesome.... VF, panzer dragon ,shenmue, crazy taxi, gothan project etc.... I actually stoped buying consoles because of Sony I never got over the fact that DC was better than PS and even on the short run better than PS2..... Sony distroyed Sony and I hate them for that lol :D

sony the evil empire of electronic entertainement.... Sony is to elec & ent what MS is to OSs... that's my opinion of course :)

you had also neo geo with great game from their arcade version of the system, damn I miss that time..... I would go back to that time over any console war right now.... that was the time gaming was actually about gamers and not "casual" gamers
