The main problem is these videos are what, like 320x240.... how can you even compare them? And also, they were on different fields (in game) so of course the grass looks different, it IS different.

This is sad that it hasn't dawned on you. These videos are recordings, of course the real thing is gonna look a lot better. The Wii version just wasn't downgraded that much to get it online.
Now here are a few points to remember in the future
- It's Football, things are zoomed out. Graphics are hardly that big of a deal in this game. Madden has always been about Roster updates and Gameplay improvements.
- Its on the net, not exactly optimal settings for a comparison. If you could compare them on the same HD TV then you could make a real comparison. So all of what these developers have been saying about giving one console a graphical improvement over the other is not something you will see unless you play it yourself on the 5000 dollar HD TV that these games were so painstakingly made for.
Why am I adding to this?
HD comparisons are well and good for you and me (hardcore gamers who own HDTVs) but when you only play Madden and a handful of other games, and don't own an HDTV, as most don't, then does this really matter.
I would like to say my predictions were way off by the way. Whether or not Madden Wii has long legs, I doubt it will reach the % equivelant of the user base.
I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.
Ok... So i was just watching those 2 vids... And i'm freakin suprised.
Halfway through the 1st vid i had to check if i was watching the Wii version.
Cuzz damn. There's a lot of difference in the two vids (I mean some stuff looks WAY better on the Wii and viceversa)!
So lets get some things straight:
Polygon count:
PS3/X360 win.
Animations:
PS3/X360 win.
Stadion look:
Wii wins.
Gras:
Wii wins! Easily.
Graphics on an SD-tv:
Tied in the sharpness. Wii wins overall cuzz the PS3/X360 version looks plastic.
Graphics on an HD-tv:
PS3/X360 win. But not by a wide margin.
Last comments:
Or: EA has pumped lots of resources on the Wii version in comparison to the X360 and PS3.
Or: EA was too busy uping the polygoncount in the footballers for the X360 PS3 version (tunnelvision i call that).
Or: EA likes the Wii REALLY MUCH and is actually putting effort in Wii ports (Look at the first 'or' for more info).
Or: The PS3/X360 didn't get the polishing the Wii version got cuzz they thought the game would still sell REALLY WELL. As it did!
Props for the EA Wii team on this one. I hope the Wii version can keep up with it's opening numbers so it won't drop down fast and reach ~400k. I guess that would satisfy the effort for EA.

THE NETHERLANDS
i wouldnt say its impressive, i mean how many polygons do u need to render a football player at that size on screen? sure you can always add more, but at that size the differences are barely noticable.
The same can be said for most team sports. UK football games have prety much looked the same for the last 5 years, its only on the replays the difference is really noticable.
Its obvious that when these 2 are compared at full res, the differences will be much clearer, but at the end of the day you're not going too notice these things in the heat of play, the way it plays is far far more important.
I saw the Xplay review of the Wii version and they totaly trashed it. They didn't compare the other two versions or offer a review but they did see fit to bust on the Wii control scheme ever chance they got. Those guys are funny. Sometimes it seems like they are spreading it on a bit thick in regards to their praise of the Wii, and other times they seem almost disgusted by it. Either way I have not played any of the 08 Maddens but if they are anything like other years, the music changes, the players change, but the game is still the same. So I will wait until 08 actually gets here to buy Madden 08 and get it out of the bargain bin.
look good on the Wii, but beter on the XB360 but only for one reason, "LARGE PLAN". And it's only for this.
And it's the same for multi platform XB360/PS3/Wii game, without HD and on non-LARGE-PLAN it look almoste the same.
Look at Virtua Fighter 5 on a non-HD TV, same as "Soul Calibur 2" on GC.
Ureshikunai yo, kono yaro~~
After most mags the Wii version looks much closer to the PS2 version than to the PS3/360 ones ....some videos at 320*240 resolution dont prove anything ...
